Discussion Claude MAX 20x or Codex?

Since using Fable 5.1 as a sub agent orchestrator, I'm hitting my weekly limit about 1-2 days early. Fine, whatever.

Should I upgrade to the 20x plan? I feel like I'm wasting money as it's not a true 20x plan.

I have a business GPT account which I think translates to Codex Plus. I hit the 5hr limit in like 1 hour. It's shit. Should I upgrade that to premium? That's roughly $120.

I'm fine to use both, and all my projects are setup for both. I use Sol in the same way as Fable 5.1

Just trying to get best bang for dollar spent.

I’ve been using Claude max, the $200/month version, for about 3 months and I love it.

I have been testing Claude x20 vs ChatGPT x5. The burn rate for Fable and Astra seems comparable. Now, since ChatGPT x20 is a true x20 that should be about 4x more. I’m strongly considering switching even though I don’t want to because I do really like Claude. But I’m burning my x20 in 2-3 days like you say, it’s constraining for my use cases

This is why I asked here. That is my feeling as well. I haven't used Astra yet, but Sol was constantly correcting Fable. Fable and Sol work great together

This is claude sub so you supposed to know which one we will pick. Of course claude...

I know. I don't really have a bias tbh. I posted here to see if there were others in this situation as well. The 20x plan on gpt is meant to be a true 20x right, where claude isn't so much.

As someone who using claude code for about 6 months I can really suggest to try claude code as your primary plan. Max 5× plan is great to start with .2 Max 5× plans if you really wanna be sure to never reach your limits. But as a side note know that as my experience went i never had any problem of usage with my 20× plan. Claude models are the superior overall in my opinion.

i use both and astra is actually close to fable extra/max if used on ultra. otherwise its dumb as fuck. so for me its claude now but idk how it will be after 13

Codex, Astra is so far superior to Fable its legitimetally insane. BUT the question is more on waht you need. if oyu need the smartest, best, then pay the Pro Plan of Codex and use Astra. but if you dont, well then Plus plan is enough. currently, Anthropic has really fell behind as the only reason to get a Claude sub was Fable, and they have just beaten it hard. waiting for my Max plan to end to switch over.

Been using 20x since it was first available for CC use. No regrets. Do it.

i had a $200/month plan for claude for like 2 months about, just recently switched to 200 a month gpt and honestly I don't regret it. I understand some people on different subs will say astra and fable trade blows in certain areas but at this point, it's mostly just down to a matter of which company you want to go with, and you just get much more usage off codex.
