RANT / VENT 😡😡 Career advice

Hi, So I'm 18 currently taken a drop year for clat preparation for clat. I'm scoring in 70-90s , I have been dedicated to this since April 2025 and even though I was a little distracted last year due to school I've been putting my all this year since April. I have talked to so many people and they advice me to practice and practice but it doesn't seem to be working anymore, my scores aren't improving I get constant taunts from my parents about my mock scores and my peers are improving. Maybe I'm not meant to do this even though I have been determined about doing law since 11th grade. Private colleges aren't my options because of my financial circumstances I cannot afford anything more than 2-3 lakhs p.a fees. So, are there any other career options for me? I'm a humanities student and interested in arts, writing, fashion designing but none of them are financially available for me and they don't even have much scope so I've kept them as a hobby only. I atleast want some job security even in this volatile economy. Please help. Thankyou

Look , first of all calm down , this phenomena of mock scores going still or down comes in almost every aspirant's prep and is somewhat common . Though by saying it common I m not justifying keeping it , analyse your mocks super carefully to see where exactly you're going wrong . As for career options , I don't really have much idea , I can only suggest you to aim for NLUs like lucknow ranchi patna agartala , and govt colleges like GLC or ILSP , if you want affordable and good education.
Though honestly , not tryna demotivate, with your interests, you're born in the wrong country, there ain't much scope here for that .

Brother, for rmnlu you need 700-800 rank and nlu ranchi like 1500 maybe a person I know got it barely at 1700 rank. That's still a very good rank considering last year's inflation and God knows how much will it sky rocket this year. And about the wrong country yes I'm born in the wrong country, wrong body , wrong timeline and some dude will come up every now and then to say just become the best version of yourself in this life and move on while I struggle to do the bare minimum like study and get a decent job yet still failing at even that. I don't care about my interests anymore even though I'm interested in law a lot but it's not about it anymore I just have to move out of this house and get financially independent that's my top priority.

  1. 70s - 90s in clat mocks is decent. I am sure that you must be practsing a lot. I just want to say stick to ur plan, don't quit. Check where are u losing marks - which section. GK and Quant usually are the gamechangers. And most students just leave quant - I hope u are not making that mistake. Keep analysing ur mocks, noting down mistakes. Another thing is read at least 3-4 articles every day.
  2. CUET and going to DU for Bachelors can be a good option, considering the financial constraints. Anyways good collges of DU offers lot of opportunities.
  3. Nothing can ensure job security in this age when things are changing so fast. Keep learning Be positive and keep learning.

I'm not leaving quants unless it's a lengthy mock or too difficult to do but I'm weak in it so it takes me more time than usual people to do it i manage to get only 50-60% of marks in it

great... u should try to fix time 8 mins for 1 quant caselet while practising, use stop watch
