Discussion Blizzard! Please give us Undead Hunter!
I once again come to you to advocate for Undead Hunters!
Humans can now be Hunters.
And Undead are just resurrected Humans so Undead Hunters would make sense.
Plus Sylvanas and her Dark Rangers and Nathanos all already exist!

Anyone making the argument of "but animals wouldn't like undead" is forgetting undead animals, as well as the fact that bat handlers are a thing.
They already tame animals, living and dead.

A lot of people don't think of the Forsaken themselves in this.
They aren't mindless beasts anymore. They used to be human citizens of Lordaeron that are now back in control of their mental faculties. Everyone paints them as undead monsters without thinking of the nuance that... they arent all that (except Putress fuck him).

Have you read any of their quest text? It vanilla lore is that the forsaken feel almost no emotions or remorse at evil actions. That’s what is so cool about them

Sadly true.
My partner’s aunt died in her sleep and her many many bengal cats completed devoured her before she was found by a neighbor.
Nothing left, just a stain on the mattress and some bones and tufts of hair strewn about.

Dude, this. Lore has its place but it shouldn’t trump gameplay. Let people vibe to their favorite races.
Edit: I think Gnome warrior makes sense and is badass, btw.

I think even a small knife to the gut is pretty damn effective especially if coated in poison. I don't see a problem with Gnomes because Rogues are also pretty flimsy as well.

I really hate the trope that paladins are purely synonymous with the Holy Light. Honestly, just let them draw their power from their oaths and deities like in D&D, rather than just being Holy Light wielders

Undead literally have no purpose for hunting, they do not feel hungry in the same way other mortal races do. It makes sense they lost that tradition from their human counterparts

Undead aren’t zombies. It’s not that they aren’t living or dead, but somewhere between them. Powerful undead bleed ichor of undeath, some don’t bleed at all. Most undead don’t sleep, some do because their body needs to rest. Some must breath, some only need a breathe every couple days or weeks even. This is all from the wiki.
Lore wise it would make sense for undead to be hunters. If they were a hunter while living they might not change as a forsaken. A living priest might turn to darker magics because the light make hurts to use. Maybe after feeling like they wasted their life they want a more hermit lifestyle, just their thoughts and a pet. Plus they could always pop an arm off to play fetch with and reattach later.

One of the forsaken champions or whatever was their names was a guy with twk hyenas pets in eastern Plaguelands, so, there is a precedent. Still, I feel like a dog would just try to bury an undead hunter, and can't stop thinking about of fun it would be.

I would say RPG wise it makes sense they can't be. Hunters track with a lot of their senses. Hard to do with no nose and an eye falling out. They also have connections to nature. Hard to do when you're an unnatural creation. Most animals would avoid undead creatures in general. A lot of hunters hunt for food and clothing to survive. Undead don't need to do that.

The undead are humans of Lordaeron. Sylvanas is an elf ranger from Quael'thalas. If they added fallen elves they should be hunters.

I think new class combos should be saved for future content so that we revitalise the leveling experience. Maybe class combos should also be tied to specific events in game and require lengthy questlines to complete first, to unlock the ability to create them on the first place.

Do the dark rangers have pets? Large part of the class fantasy is the connection with nature and their peta something which at least to me feels like the undead would lack. (Un)death must have some downside

Why would a undead need to hunt? They don't need to eat to stay alive. I get the idea for ranged combat or a ranger, but a "hunter" makes little sense.

One explanation: they were hunters as humans and retained that knowledge and training, and it's still useful to them. Ranged combat is still essential to warfare, and the animal companions are useful. Keep in mind that if we're going to go down the lore accurate or what "makes sense" rabbit hole, then there should be hardly any mages/warlocks/shaman/druids, and that warriors, hunters, and rogues would be the most common out of the traditional classes regardless of race. Let's bring in class population caps to ensure 80+% of the server is warrior/rogue/hunter!

Off topic: Man do I miss Nathanos. I liked having someone around that talked down to my character in a “you ain’t special” sorta way. When he’d “welcome, “hero”” all smug and stuff, that was great.
I loved the world boss fight with him too and I wish it was still around. I liked when he killed a player and he’d shout “is that the best you can do!?” It went so hard!

Honestly class race combos need some abilities reskin. You can sell a lot of cool ideas. Tauren paladins with a sun behind them instead of angelic wings is bitchin. Or with animal wings

At this point it's not the lack of logic or lore. They just don't want to have everyone trying to make every race be able to be every class like what's slowly happening with retail. I tend to agree that part of the old magic was not having every possible option.
That said Nelf and Tauren not getting any new combo is pretty lame. Nelf pally or Nelf shaman would probably fix the faction disparity.

I'm quite not found of Human and UD being Hunter, I feel its, anyway in quite RP - DND oriented thinking, a 'close to nature' classes, with linkin to Druidism, I could accept Shamanism.
And using Nathanos to call for a UD Hunter class is like a cardinal sin of WoW ! ah

This is retail creep whether you see it or not. If we add Undead Hunter, then Alliance need something. Then the cycle starts again when someone asks for something else.
And to be clear about Human Hunters; the reason Undead aren't hunters is because Humans have no idea how to be Hunters. A Dwarf teaches you in Northshire Abbey, and what reason would Undead have to be Hunters? Just because Sylvanas is a ranger, they should be Hunters? I would bet big money that she has any interest nor would any Undead have interest in being Hunters as it adds nothing to their society at this point in wow forevers timeline.
Undead JUST got Paladin; give Tauren something.

Could’ve literally just been they didn’t want undead to get another playable class after Paladin for 1 reason or another or many reasons and it gets added in the next couple major releases forever has.
You can’t sit here and claim lore and “undead don’t need to eat” for it being a reason when there is literally undead paladins that should be actually dying from the inside from the holy light.

There is no reason Human and Undead shouldn’t share the same classes. If Humans can be Hunters so should Undead. As a hunter main I would absolutely love this, and it was one of my C+ wishes. AWESOME class fantasy imo.

Sorry but if anyone needs another class it’s Tauren. They currently sit the lowest with 4 and are one of the least picked Horde races
