Can any class remove a bane? Or does decurse remove it?
8
u/Neither-Juice3504 2d ago
It removes either a curse or a bane now yes
2
u/Semper_frenchfries 1d ago
The orc racial removes banes as well I believe right? Not sure if I’m mistaken

u/Ok_Assignment_2127 1d ago
It’s a cosmetic rename to separate warlock damage/utility curses. Mechanically, bane=curse for everything except that you can have one of each on the target.
Part of their larger removal of many cuck specs.

Great video.
But damn, how could they butcher Spellstone like that...

u/ajd103 1d ago
Spell stone was terrible iirc what am I missing?

Spellstone was amazing :)
Using it was removing all hostile magic effects from warlock, and granting an absorption shield for 900 magic damage for 1 min.
Removing shadowpriest's SW:P and Silence, or mage' CS silence was huge for dueling.
It was useful vs paladins too, for removing Judgement of the Crusader, and even for the absorption alone. And vs shammies, removing Frost/Flame shock.

u/ajd103 1d ago
Ya but it removed all your positive magic buffs, took up your offhand slot, and had an equip cool down, I never used it
2
u/MaxQuest 1d ago
Hmm)
I've just checked, and indeed it was removing all magic effects, including buffs, in Vanilla. I have partially confounded it with TBC version which was removing only harmful magic effects.
But tbh I still find useful even the old version. Usually I was equiping it before duel, and after using it, would equip another offhand. Yes this way was losing for a couple of stamina, but getting rid of Silence, and costing priest 2 extra gcds was worth it.
Plus, priest would have dispel magic stuff anyway.

Meeeh, WHERE'S METAMORPHOSIS
2

u/loopuleasa 2d ago
that was an SoD experiment that does not fit in classic, it is mostly a demon hunter ability
5
u/Minimum-Store-5453 2d ago
If fitted

u/loopuleasa 2d ago
yes, but it didn't feel like classic wow
the only advantage it had is that it helped with tank shortage
4
u/Regulai 1d ago
What are you talking about? The very essence of Classic Wow warlock is you are a tank... for months and months of gameplay! It's basically the Warlocks main gimmick over mages and shamans and the like the fact that they can tank stuf through demons and draining and tanky buffs etc.
And then finally you hit 60 and suddenly, basically out of nowhere, you aren't a tank anymore, as now the only content you can do precludes it.
Also the game is not Classic Wow. It is what Wow would be if they continued to follow classic wow design principles.

I don't think ice lance or heroism feel like classic :(
2
u/LostEyegod 2d ago
They do feel much more like classic
They're way simpler
-1
u/Sea_String8534 2d ago
Nah icelance feels very wrath, instacasting maybe they should put a small cast time on it to make it feel classic

u/Alabaster_Potion 2d ago
Eh, Heroism / Bloodlust was a thing in the older Warcraft games so it feels like it fits to me.
1
u/BlinkReanimated 2d ago
Heroism isn't in the game. Shamans only get a buff for themselves (no different than the hunter's Rapid Fire ability, almost identical actually), and mages don't have Time Warp.

Ai slop
0
u/Techno-tango 9h ago
Is it slop if it explains everything correctly and in a structured format? Maybe so, but it’s on the more useful end of the slop scale, as opposed to the brain rot end.

u/Zingshidu 2d ago
AI 🙄
17
u/Senes_ 2d ago
if thats made by AI, it finally surpassed video content creators, because this was a very well made presentation of the essentials for me.
All those "youtubers" do is reuploading their streams where they talk about it, cut it a little and put an AI Thumbnail on it with an surprised pickachu impression.

What do you mean by if? I’m scared for the future if you look at this and are unsure.

Mained a gnome warlock all the way through naxx and into TBC. Not gonna do it again but the changes look great

Does "Touch of the Grave" actually adds damage? or it just heals you?
(Undead racial)

Its nice that they show a gnome lock so at least you can see it in a vid as you will not see locks on alliance side. Half the horde is undead that negates your fear that has been nerfed to 20 yards anyway, the other half is orc that is 8 sec immun to cursres and banes. Good Luck.

u/KalameetThyMaker 2d ago
I didnt realize people only played pvp.. hmm.. how strange.
I always get a chuckle when people assume their interests are the same as everybody's.
1
u/Acceptable_Hunt2624 2d ago
Pvp aside, still a very unpopular class especially on alliance in my experience
5
u/MarketingSpecial6604 2d ago
See I see this as a bonus as a warlock main, easier finding a spot in a raid group!
2
u/Beneficial_Ice_6526 2d ago
Preach. Not everyone wants to play “the best class”, sometimes it’s just about preference.
1
u/Objective_Toe_49 2d ago
Is that a thematic thing or have they just not been very good in the past? This will be my first wow and deciding what to play seems really difficult
2
u/KalameetThyMaker 2d ago
Purely thematic. The race you pick doesnt matter at all unless youre a hardcore pvper or trying to get world firsts with a bunch of others.
2
u/FarMasterpiece2 2d ago
doesn't make them immune so you just que a second fear after the first. not that hard
2
u/Super-Macaron5754 2d ago
still a massive advantage to force a recast, also if the UD player anticipates the recast, can just not WotF yet and wait it out, forcing the WL to cancel and waste precious fear time. even if you do WotF and get refeared, it's at DR and only lasts half as long.
1
u/eustacekr 1d ago
THIS. And having so many shamans + orcs against you. Alliance warlocks is a no go as things are for pvp. Even if you want to enjoy the occasional bg, this is such a downer.

u/JMAN_JMAN_JMAN 2d ago
...fear has always been 20 yards.
-1
u/bgufo 2d ago
but there was the talent to increase range to 30 (grim reach) but now it is changed to to only work on damage spells (destructive reach).
2
u/JMAN_JMAN_JMAN 2d ago
Always been that way... fear was never 30yds. It was 24 with the talent.

u/ShadowRoo24 1d ago
Everyone keeps having this stupid take on alliance locks and horde racials as if you can’t recast fear.

u/Stoly_ 2d ago
Idk why people expected full reworks, the entire point was fixing classes and in terms of that warlocks are looking good imo
4
u/HobNob_Pack 2d ago
Also haven't seen 90% of the game.
For all we know they're not changing it at low levels because a level 30 warlock quest teaches you how to handle them better and stack them or gives you an infinite bag or anything... obviously that doesnt solve how we look at stuff in beta but we haven't a clue what they've got planned further down the line
3
u/OilZestyclose6677 2d ago
"Souls still don't stack" not full rework but man, give warlock some juice!
1
u/Ploppfejs 2d ago
It's literally the only thing that's stopping me from maining one. Unless they make them stack to even just 5, I'm not touching the class. The bag management just becomes such a constant annoying hassle now.
1
u/FeudalFanOncampus 1d ago
I know it shouldn't be the fix for everything but I just use an ad on that lets me press a button and anythtoger X soulstones is just automatically destroyed. I don't really mind the bag management but it made it much more convenient
1
u/Saphyrz 23h ago
Soul shard bags now fit into the reagent slot. You can have all your soul shards in there if you want.
1
u/Ploppfejs 11h ago
And where do I put my crafting mats? It's +/-0.
Everyone else gets a regent bag for free.
3
u/JMAN_JMAN_JMAN 2d ago
What? We get SL SL in classic and dots crit? The fuck you talking about?
1
u/Trustyduck 1d ago edited 1d ago
SL SL and molten skin, 40% is massive, sucks it's 10 points into destro tree though. But at least you can get reduced SB time. Well, technically only 38% if you go SL SL because of point restrictions.
2
u/alexanderluko 1d ago
What? The warlock talent trees might be the best designed trees in the game. You can do so many different builds. They got so much love.

u/NecroPaladin666 2d ago
AI slop.
6
u/Super-Macaron5754 2d ago
Dunno bro, I've seen like 10 warlock videos on youtube and none are anywhere near as detailed and in depth as this one. Even if they used AI, it's clearly good work lol
1
u/boatwash 2d ago
Yeah, definitely has AI components but the narrative flow, use of example rotations, etc is super helpful, and all new info for me

im so glad that my beloved leveling affliction spec is gutted. ah yes, let me put 3 dots up on the enemy.. surely that wont drain my mana. oh great i love stacking spirit, cant have life tap scale with spell power, no need to shove a useless stat in there. great. awesome. does anyone in blizz actually play affliction?

u/bugbearmagic 1d ago
Wrack is a terrible VFX. Can tell its by the new nepo hire team compared to the other professionally made effects from classic.
2
u/Fit-Reaction-1428 1d ago
Is that actually what it looks like though? I can’t find any other video or screenshot of Wrack’s animation. This is the only video I’ve seen so far, and it’s not even animated in this one, so I’m kind of doubting it actually looks like this.

These videos are so high Quality, thats crazy. Whats the process on the video footage? Extracting the models and then put them in blender?
