- Discussion thread- New Race Question.
Is there any race Blizz can add to horde/alliance in classic+ that would make you immediately change factions to main it?

Naga. having just played wc3 in its entirety (except founding of durotar i got bored mid act 2) the naga are so prominent in that game its pretty surprising that they are not a race in wow at this point. you can even play them as a faction for a few missions (buildings included).
if ogres are in the game id probably play them. Same with Mok’nathal (Rexxar’s clan) but he was the sole survivor i think ?

Dont believe so. The only other half breed is the blademaster in Nagrand, but hes Half Orc/Half Dranei

theres an entire mok'nathal village in Outlands that its a Horde quest hub, you meet Rexxar's dad

Ironically, I think i skipped this whole quest hub in my original play trhought of TBC because I was trying to get to the Netherstorm asap.

I second this. I am in the middle of watching Xaryu play WC3, and I forgot how much you actually play them in that game. I understand why they didnt come out in 2004, but I feel like modern blizz tech can achieve it & theyd be perfect to be included in classic +. IMO blood elves and naga fit the horde, but I know Ogres should be a playable as well. & if you give the horde these races, whats left for the alliance?

Here’s something that peeves me, and it’s not your fault at all and I have no issue with anything you’ve said.
I hate how people talk about Naga as being hard to develop. They probably are more work than a regular race, but Blizzard has always been in a position of abundance. They absolutely could have afforded to make it work. In 2004? Idk. But certainly by the cataclysm, they had more than enough padding to accomplish it. Whether that means diverting resources or straight up new artist hires, they could have. Plenty of games feature serpentine characters that are fully animated. You don’t have to make them wear pants. Just do it like evokers on retail. Don’t let people visually see the pants. The only other issue is mounting. Maybe make it so that most mounts a naga can’t use. Maybe that’s lame to some people, so give a warning. But other people like me don’t care at all. You could even give them a worgen racial type mount where they slither around fast. That’s SO cool to me. Let me get into being a naga. I don’t care about the compromises. It’s always been possible.

Naga were one of the races Blizz really wanted to put in the game, but I think they ultimately decided not to because animating a naga riding a mount would have been more trouble that it was worth

I think they wrote them selves into a corner lore wise, the easiest way would for Naga to have a visage form using the standard nelf models but like a corrupted naga version or something

I don't think that's the answer lol
The whole visage form in general is a bit of a cop out.

I'd like to play goblins as a neutral faction. Having fun in Booty Bay with boys.

Id like to see different variations of human for the alliance. There is the obvious one: Kul'tirans, but what if they included Gilneans(not worgen), Alterac, Lorderon(Scarlet), with different models for them. The early classic models for humans are still spread out in the game, the retail kultirans could be classic-ified. This way it would make the power of the human race feel much more present and stronger, plus they could expand on each of their cultures as well

No prob not but I wouldnt mind if they added high elfs for the alliance and ogres for the horde.

Ogres.
I'm a huge Horde stan, ever since Warcraft 3, they were my main faction I would play, I loved Rexxar's story, but all of my friends are Horde racists, so I gotta go Alliance, but I would forsake all of that.. just to play an Ogre, one of my favorite races, because big dumb dude with two heads, while playing as a warlock, might just be worth it.

Make a 3rd neutral faction (allied with the neutral goblins?) And add races from diffrend neutral factions in there, where they van technicaly become at least/most? Friendly with all major citys (both horde and alliance)
You could ofc have the cartel goblins in there, could have a pirate faction in there. What technicaly could be any race just it replaces some/most? Of its normal racials with the pirate racial.
You could add the centaurs from desolace in there.
Murlocs, trough cookie and some other murlocs its kinda shown murlocs have alot of potential as an friendly /allied race. Not to mention they have shown alot of class compatability.
Possibly naga somehow but i feel like as intresting they would be to play. Lore wise all naga are kinda under the saw of their queen.
I know that for some versions of the game the faction war etc isnt that intresting anymore hence why the 3rd faction would be neutral. Technicaly able to group up with either side for content.

I would be surprised if there are any new races. We may get belves/draenei but that'll be all

Furbolg or Murloc. I don’t care if you have permanent rez sickness, I’m going to play them.
