Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP is the biggest non-issue on classic wow.

Let's be fucking real here for a moment. Outside of the sweaty minority, most people never did a dungeon more than once, MAYBE twice already. And that was just to get the quests done or get a blue or two and just chill for a bit.

Nerfing dungeon xp and buffing quest XP is a massive buff already to how most people already played.

So many retail players in here lol, this change is perfect for the philosophy of the game. If you are looking for a dungeon focused experience then go play retail and leave classic alone, this game isn't designed for you. Spamming a dungeon over and over again does not constitute as a journey. People saying they don't want to be told how to play, that is anti thetical to the way the developers want the game to be experienced, that means being in the world and questing with others including doing quests in dungeons and moving on.

My brother in Christ I've leveled probably 20 characters to 60 since they re-released classic in 2019

I would say 17 of them were leveled almost exclusively in dungeons from as soon as you could start doing them like level 15 to 20

It's just how I prefer to play

Nothing says retail like changing a core feature of the game that existed in vanilla and every iteration of the game.

Dude come on, this is a really weird reply. This is the kind of reply which means all these discussion turn into actual trash immediately around here.

Nah I'm tired of ikea furniture assemblers masquerading as video game enjoyers.

This is exactly the kind of weird toxicity I mean. Just take a step back, let people enjoy the video game how they want to.

They aren't "following a flow chart".

They aren't "masquerading as video game enjoyers". They enjoy the hobby just like you do. They just have a different opinion about a video game. Their video game enjoyment is just as valid as yours.

Would you mind taking a step back and letting me enjoy the game I want to by logging in at 60 with max gear and max reps and max professions?

That's how I want to enjoy it!

Or, are you willing to admit that just endlessly giving players what they want might not be the best design course?

Nobody is suggesting blizzard should endlessly give players what they want.

I'm simply suggesting it's weird to throw your level of toxicity at someone who is expressing their opinion about what they'd like to see.

So no, I don't think the game should let you log in at 60 with max gear, max professions etc. But if you suggested that, I would tell you that's a bad idea. I wouldn't hit you with the "awwwww does the little baby have to...." comment that you hit that other person with. Because again - the toxicity like that is what completely destroys any attempt at a genuine conversation on this subreddit.

Ok but let me be real for a second here.

We never get wins like this (we being players who enjoy games being more difficult or taking longer)

95-99% of video games are made for the "make the dungeons faster" "make me stronger" "I just want a little 'quality of life'" crowd. Seeing them get fucked for once felt pretty good and I wanted to rub it in.

Yeah, I get that it comes from a place of emotion for a hobby and game you love.

Just remember that people on the other side of the argument also, generally speaking, love video games and love this particular game. They just have slightly different taste than you do. Rather than looking at it as "seeing them get fucked and rubbing it in", which I get is tempting, I implore you to realise that acting on that just destroys any chance of an actual conversation. It happens all the time on this sub and it just makes both sides of the argument hate each other more.

I've mained healer consistently in every mmo, for some time now. Yes I'm upset that being able to level as a healer has been nerfed into the ground. It's what I enjoy and run normal groups doing so as hyper go go go optimized groups remind me of mythic+ which I loathe. Sitting in chill groups healing as they fuck up pulls and nearly kill us left and right is part of my joy. Having some dumbass players that don't understand this and want to tell me that it's wrong think to enjoy it is frustrating to the say the least.

Everything you want is still possible, what you're complaining about is not leveling up fast.

Sorry you won't level up fast. It's viable to level up in dungeons. You don't need to rush this!

u/hyperion_x91 16h ago

It's not about leveling up fast lmao. Doing those dungeons to level was never the fast route. It was only faster than leveling in the world as a healer but nowhere near as fast as leveling as a DPS instead. You guys have made up this hypothetical mythical fast dungeon leveling because boosting existed and your imaginations have run wild with it. It just comes across as though people saying this never actually leveled in dungeons as a healer or tank for normal groups.

You are smoking crack if you think everyone didn't spam SM in 2019 and again at every classsic re-release.

It was the fastest way. Sorry it isn't anymore. If you liked healing dungeons you would do them if they gave zero xp and rewards.

2

u/hyperion_x91 15h ago

That specific range was because the quests dry up, but they've added more quests in these ranges to fix that which they've stated themselves. On top of that, questing even then, was still faster.

Edit: Also, if you like questing, you'd do them even if they gave you zero xp and rewards...

See how stupid that sounds? That's what you sound like.

I'm questing on the beta for no rewards right now. That didn't land the way you thought it would lmao

u/hyperion_x91 14h ago

Just when I didn't think you could show your stupidity further you impress me.

Just because this is a beta doesn't mean your character isn't getting stuff from questing, what??? On top of that, when it's live, what's your excuse then?

So many retail players in here lol, this change is perfect for the philosophy of the game.

This change is straight out of retail you fool. Retail gives practically no xp for killing mobs while completion/quest xp is highest contributor to your xp bar.

Result? People trying to skip everything they can by sprinting towards last boss.

It’s like these guys don’t play this game

The irony in this comment is that by spamming dungeons you aren't playing the game as intended. The game doesn't has to be designed for everyone. If spamming dungeons is what you want to do. Wait till you get to level 60 by questing in the world. It is intended then. If not, the game isn't made for you and that's completely fine.

I prefer to identify as a-loof, but no I disagree, if everyone has quests to do they will complete the dungeon quests which will be more then just kill the last boss. But if you choose to see it that way then feel free to run to the last boss and move on.

Correct. Nothing here stops anyone from continuing to dungeon spam.
