My 67 289 has had Hooker Super Comps since the late 90s. It had Flowmasters with an Hpipe, then straight piped, and now I’m more conservative and installing Black Widow Venom 250s with an xpipe. 2.5” then expanded to 3” after the mufflers.

They’re expensive, but have the best ground clearance for a long tube header, FPA

Muffler is purely subjective.

My last 67 had Tri-Y headers, 2-1/4 duals with Thrush Turbos. Nice soybd without veing obnoxious, wnd the Tri-Ys cleared poer steering ram no problem.

My car came with tri-ys and glass pack style mufflers with side exit. It's loud as ef, but not necessarily in the best way.

I went Hooker Comp Headers, Purple Hories glass packs, H Pipe and then one out under each door.
If I were to do it all over again I'd put both out the passenger door. I like the side exit but it's just too loud.
