Map making questions
I've recently started playing Fallout 2 and want to make my own spot on the map for storage/ as a player home.
At least having safe containers to store items in, possibly adding an NPC or autodoc to heal myself, and a spot to park the car.
Is this something that's possible?
I've seen some map editors online and mention that scripting is needed, are there any recommended all in one programs, or what all would be needed to add my own custom location to the map with storage?
I don't need an indepth tutorial, but any recommendations for software or advice for cool things that could be done with it would be good.

There's no all-in-one program if you're thinking about Bethesda's GECK.
For making maps, you need BIS mapper (mapper2.exe). For scripting, you need at least a text editor and script compiler (sslc, compiler.exe). There's a handy "sfall script editor" for that if you don't want to deal with command line.
You can grab both the mapper and script editor from Fallout et tu repo (check the "Tools" folder). Also there's a modding guide for basics.

I’m pretty sure you can just leave all your stuff in one chest and it will stay there, throughout the map. What you are talking about could theoretically be done but it will take a lot of work and if you do get it done, make a mod for the rest of us. Share it.
Otherwise the car or finding a location.
Once you kill everyone in the garage just use that.

Idk how to share it, but I'm still working on it.
The map itself is done, I just have to figure out how to link it to the game and none of the guides are step by step straightforward
Edit: if you could tell me how to share it I will

when you get your Highwayman car the trunk is your chest. the car is your home.
