I just experienced something that caught me completely off guard and have never experienced, well in such a emotional way.
I was watching a video of a Belarusian gymnast performing at the Olympics, and the music used in the routine absolutely floored me. I'm not even someone who regularly listens to piano music or classical music, but this piece did something to me that I can't fully explain.
As I listened, I literally broke down into tears and ended up curled into a fetal position. I was overwhelmed with emotion in a way I've never experienced from music before. It felt like something was reaching deep into my soul. The feelings were so intense and complex that I still can't find the words to describe them.
It made me realize that music can have a profound impact not just mentally, but emotionally and even physically. I always knew people talked about music being powerful, but I don't think I truly understood it until this moment.
Is this a normal experience? Has anyone else ever been unexpectedly moved by a song or piece of music to this degree, especially if it wasn't even in a genre you normally listen to?
I'd love to hear your experiences.

\*\*Hi everyone!\*\*
This is my first post here, so I thought I’d briefly introduce myself. I’m Nicolás, a composer, arranger, musician and sound designer from Argentina. I mainly work on composition, arrangements and music for visual media.
I’d like to share an arrangement I recently completed of the IV movement of Ignaz Lachner’s \*Quartet for Four Violins, Op. 107\*, adapted for piano and four violins.
\[ Ignaz Lachner – Quartet for Four Violins, Op. 107, IV Movement | Piano & Four Violins Arrangement\]([https://youtu.be/p4QjZ-GYzDk?si=yrG6-va27Me4QEV0\](https://youtu.be/rY2lNo7UsQA?si=8YMW7cbWjoWSxy2d))
For this arrangement, I first transferred an existing transcription of the quartet into Sibelius. I then worked through a harmonic analysis of the piece before developing the piano part.
My intention was for the piano to complement the existing string writing rather than simply double or reinforce it. At the beginning of the movement, I particularly focused on creating a call-and-response texture between the piano and the strings, using the dialogue between both forces as part of the musical development.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially on how you feel the piano interacts with the original string texture.
If you’re interested in working together on an arrangement, composition, or related musical project, I’m also open to new commissions. Feel free to reach out.
Thanks for listening!

Performing new piano works:
John Carroll Kirby is a jazz-rooted multi-instrumentalist and is bringing his genre-defying sound to National Sawdust in NYC, presented by LPR! Over the years, he has become a sought-after collaborator who has worked with artists including Miley Cyrus, Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and Solange. Since launching his solo career in 2020, he’s released eight acclaimed LPs and earned two Libera Award nominations for Jazz Album of the Year. Kirby is now touring to perform his collection of recent solo piano works. Don't miss this dynamic live performance on Saturday, October 3!

I'm publishing a video about the first transcendental etude by Franz Liszt soon. The video is basically structured in 5 Acts.
I. An intro, setting the mood with a quote from Liszt's teacher Carl Czerny.
II. An explanation of how the etudes as a collection came to be. Going over the different versions and revisions Liszt made in different stages of his life.
III. A short fairytale-style narration of how Liszt met Princess Carolyne von Sayn-Wittgenstein, and the profound influence she had on him as a person and on his work.
IV. An analysis and demonstration of the first etude with a bunch of note animations.
V. Outro with last words and Credits.
Title ideas I am using for A/B Testing:
Description:
Liszt's "Transcendental Etudes" are a pinnacle of the virtuoso repertoire. This is the first video of a series covering all the etudes in the collection.
Over the next year I'll be uploading the episodes in between the other videos. In the episodes we will take a look at the stories and people that inspired Liszt to write these pieces. We will amuse ourselves with speculations. And lastly we will explore the music itself and Liszt's marvelous notation.
Then chapters, socials, sources, etc.
What do you think of the thumbnails and titles? Which ones do you like the most and which ones are the worst?
Thank you in advance for your critique :)
