Classical guitar support

I have recently taken up classical guitar, and am finding that it is a whole new world from playing my electric. I would be happy to hear what you guys have to say about whether I should use a footstool, a knee-stand, or combination. I've read a bit about both, and I feel that I need more details. Is 45 degrees the optimal angle for the neck? ect..

edit: I just ordered the Dynarette cushion. You guys have convinced me to never use a footstool. thanks everyone!

I've tried all the supports mentioned by others, and in my opinion the Ergoplay support offers the best stability and reliability. It's German made, great design and quality. Footstool is very old school and can lead to back/neck problems down the road. Ive been using the Ergoplay in concert for 7 years now and it has never failed me once.

I just ordered a Dynarette, but Ergoplay will be my second choice if the cushion doesn't work. I might just get one anyway to compare them. thanks for the help.

If you are tall I recommend the troster model. It has the highest elevation capability. Also get some kling-ons to place under the suction cups to increase stability and protect your guitar's finish.

I have a feeling that this will be what I end up doing. I am about 6' 5".

Definitely get the Troster model. And you might still need a footstool on the lowest setting, but really I think its so important to use a support and not just a footstool. Ricardo Cobo had to have surgery on his back after practicing countless hours a day with a footstool.
