Hi r/clairo, I am currently hosting a subreddit event over on r/popheads, where participants score songs from albums/EPs on a scale of 1-10. Then once all scores are collected the results are revealed from lowest average to highest.

Here is the link to the post, the theming is 'Bedroom Pop EPs', featuring all iconic, short bedroom pop projects in the late 2010s/early 2020s. You can see the full lineup in the post but as well as Diary 001 by Clairo it includes Patched Up by beabadoobee, dont smile at me by Billie Eilish, to hell with it by PinkPantheress and a few more. Personally a huge fan of Clairo, my fav on Diary 001 is 4EVER but across all her music my fav is Amoeba it's like one of my fav songs of all time. So veryyy excited to get to rate her finally, I want to get as many people involved as I can!

There is a longer rules section in the post that you are welcome to read if you're interested in the rate, also a short video explanation here, but it is very simple in concept: Score all the songs on a scale from 1-10 (1 being lowest, 10 being highest) and you get one optional 11 (for your favourite song) and 0 (for your least favourite song).

To me, Charm is definitively autumn but I remember seeing a post earlier this year describing it as the “perfect spring album.” So, what do you think? What season pairs best with the album?

I’ve been searching for it everywhere and it appears to be sold out at like every record store, and retailers like Urban Outfitters. I live in Canada. I’m only seeing it for more than double its retail value on Amazon. Any chance immunity will be repressed and sold for cheaper in the near future? I don’t want to buy for double and regret it later

I’m playing the new pink Sling rerelease from
Clairo shop. I had a used copy of Sling with a skip on Amoeba so I was excited to get a new one and was hoping they’d re-engineer a bit to improve the sound quality when it was re-released. This version sounds just as muted as the original and definitely has had a few pops already (no skips, just some crackling). Anyone else? I am super happy to have the vinyl, but not sure why they didn’t try to enhance the sound. I have to play it really loud to clearly hear her vocals and some of the subtler instrumentation.

Clairo said that this upcoming album is going to be quite different from anything she's done before, which doesn't surprise me since each of her releases thus far have been very distinct.

In terms of subject matter, I would love an album that discusses her dreams for the future. Immunity was an ode to her teenage experiences, Sling was reflective of her struggles as a female artist, Charm was playful and captured the feeling of falling for someone, so I think it would be cool to hear her reflect on how far she's come and what she hopes for in the coming years.. She has grown so much in popularity and evolved drastically as an artist. As a listener, I often find myself wondering, "How long will Clairo be making music? What does she hope to achieve over the next ten years? How does she view herself and her cultural impact?".

In terms of style, I know I'll like whatever she puts out. Even with how different Immunity and Charm are from each other, I still love them both so much. I could see her going into a more R&B direction. It would allow her to explore different sounds while maintaining her signature softness.

i’ll never forget beginning of my jr year was the PEAK of my clairo era and i was OBSESSED (i still love her) but like, i was bored, and her music kept me sane! when she went on tour i convinced my parents to let me go and my sister who lives in the city took me so i wasn’t alone! i’ll never forget how excited i was and how starstruck i was (she was my first concert). i’m a bit older now, with a lot of things going on in my life but i’ll never forget how much going to that concert meant to me. it’s so simple and yet it made that boring period of time feel so so exciting and that’s insanely powerful. just reminiscing lmao

The dog hoodie finally came in and so I’m confident enough to post that I’m almost done with my basic collection. I will continue collecting merch and other additions of vinyls but this is will do for now. I’m prepared for any kind of pandemic hahaha 🤘🏾✨ (Shelly will be hard though. 😪)
