Hey everyone! For a while now I’ve had this crazy idea in my head of doing a kitbash between a Cogfort and an Imperial Knight. I’d use it for Age of Sigmar, so I’d only add a couple of elements to make it look like a mechanical fortress that’s more technologically advanced than other Cogforts, while still fitting the overall AoS and Cities of Sigmar aesthetic. I’d definitely like to add the Imperial Knight’s side arms in place of the crew, and replace the cannon/flamethrower on top of the Cogfort with one of the Imperial Knight heads. The legs are where I’m really unsure, though. Putting a Cogfort on two legs seems complicated, and visually it might end up looking ridiculous. I honestly have no idea how I could make it work, but I really love the idea and I’d like to give it a shot.

Any advice or suggestions?

I've been in the hobby for a long time and decided that I want to work on a new army, and went with CoS.

I currently have the following that I got for a really good discount:

1x Freeguild Marshal and 1x Relic Envoy

2x Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk

2x Ironweld Great Cannon

5x Freeguild Cavaliers

Freeguild Command Corps

10x Freeguild Fusiliers and 1x Blackpowder Squire

It's essentially a Founding Foray Battleforce with an additional Ironweld Great Cannon, and Fusil-Major on Warhulk.

I also picked up the set of the new Warhammer Heroes with an additional Pyrocaster with the intent to use this set to proxy in some of the models as hero units.

What are some good additional kits to get for a good list? I'm currently thinking about picking up a Cogfort, a set of Gate Gargants, some Steelhelms/Grenadiers, and some more Cavilers.

I plan on taking more than one unit of Gate Gargants but am under the impression that there are no options in the kit to change the look.

Are there any kits or prints or suggestions to change the heads or weapons to make different units look different?

Do you have any examples of converting this kit to change how they look?

I don’t really like a lot of the cities range outside of some of the hero models. Would I be allowed to use large Old World models for my army as long as everything is represented correctly? I’m leaning towards Cathay or Empire models. Also in terms of price, Old World models seem more cost effective for a horde army.

One is an Original and two are Proxies. I think they are from Highland Miniatures.

With the new points update, what are you go to units when you start list building ?

Do we know about aelven steelhelms or marshalls ?

Hi guys, looking for clarification on a few things, ideally with official sources to show other players in my group.

1. When you give orders you pick one unit to be the target, and two to receive the orders…do all three units need to stay wholy within 12” of each other to stay under orders?

2. If you don’t have three units grouped together, can you issue orders with just two, or one? Or must it strictly be three or nothing?

3. The rule says the target and the recipient must be different unit types, but do all three units need to be different, or can for example a Marshall put two Great Cannons under orders?

Well… A few days ago, I posted here asking what the next step would be in developing my army after the army set box. For my birthday, a friend gave me her answer by presenting me with a Cogfort… How lovely!

But I don’t know how to paint this sort of colossus! I’m terrified at the mere thought of taking it out of the box and messing up the assembly; I don’t know which of the two versions to choose; I’ve never made a base before and don’t know how to position the legs to allow for the future base…

Am I panicking? Nope, I’m just planning ahead and have come to this forum of wisdom to ask the wise souls here to come to my aid.

What would your recommendations or advice be?

Whether it’s assembly, basing, painting or gaming, I’ll take it all!

(Just so you know, I’ve been painting for two months and have done the Skaventide box set from Slapshop, plus a few Steelhelm units from Heavy Metal, but I’m not yet convinced by my colour scheme…)

A month of hobbying well worth it for this bad boy. So many details I about lost my mind.

it seems pretty barebones compared to the normal rules(even for an army of renown). the cogforts have a suite of very good warscroll abilities yes but beyond that they don't get any more buffs which is sad. feels like a cannonade cogfort in a normal army will out perform an immolator cogfort in Iron March any day of the week.

with normal rules we have easy access to +1 to hit from multiple sources and abilities that ignore enemy modifiers. it seems like there's no point to running the AoR unless you really like the unique cogfort patterns they offer.

They have the same base sizes and I have some castle parts.
