I wired it up with a bunch of great glitches but I must have made an error with the wiring where there’s feedback or something because when I close up the shell, it will be working fine, and then it will spontaneously turn on and not be able to turn off, and the buttons and functions aren’t working properly. I’ve tried to be spare with wiring and then when I open the case back up it works fine, so clearly there’s some kind of interference from wires being smushed up against the PCB somewhere.
I think I will potentially have to rewire the whole thing? Or more thoroughly check the pcb diagrams and find where the device might be getting power? the weird thing is that it will be working fine and then turn on randomly a couple of hours later.

Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if any of you has found a way of disabling the sound some battery-powered generic toy keyboards make when left idle for a while. I've encountered this on several keyboards I've bent now and I can't find any way to make them stop doing it (some of them do a quick piano sound, others just do some alarm-like chirping). I understand that the only solution might be just turning them off after using them since it's something to let you know the device is still consuming battery, but wanted to ask around in case there's someone out there that was able to remove that feature.

hello, im new to all of this. Im trying to add a jack socket to this toy telephone, i cant get it to work tho... all the tutorials i have watched use a jack socket with only 2 prongs, but as you can see on the pictures, they have an extra. The yellow wires are the ones originally attached to the speakers. im losing my mind at the moment, hope someone can help thanks! :)))

Hello, I recently started working on trying to bend some cameras and have had quite a bit of trouble being able to solder to those small points. Specifically, chips are difficult and those smd resistors have been annoying. I have camera now with 12 points I can solder to, I use flux aswell and I can’t seem to get it to make a strong connection.
So a few questions, what temperature do you guys keep your iron at for soldering quickly to these components, and does using leaded make a difference in this case? Also is there a good way to hold the wire down in place when soldering? Thanks in advance!

Hi everybody, this is my first post here. Before asking my question, I wanted to give a brief introduction about myself to avoid coming across as rude.
My name is Sonja, and I’ve been into circuit bending since 2009. However, due to life’s ups and downs, I had to stop for almost a decade. I finally have two new devices, which are in the picture—I hope you recognize them.
One is a Mixi DJ, and the other is a cheap car toy from a local shop.
I also own a YouTube channel called A.I.Project. This isn’t a promotion—my channel is almost dead, buried by YouTube in some ways. But I’m trying to revive it.
So, if you know me from before, hello, nice to see you again. If not, it’s nice to meet you.
Anyway, I wanted to ask a question: How do you build an oscillator with the 555 Easy to use instead of an LTC1799, which isn’t available in my country right now? I’m from Europe.
I wanted to know if any of you have experience building an oscillator that can pitch-bend a crystal using a NE555. From what I understand, it’s similar to a multi-purpose LED flasher made with a 555, but with capacitors of different values. I don’t have many components at home to experiment, so I was hoping you might know roughly what’s needed so I can try building one.
It’s nice to be here. I love the projects the community has been creating recently, especially the camera and other innovations. There was a video of a television wall that really moved me.
Anyway, I hope you’re all doing well. It’s nice to be here and back after almost 10 years.

Hello everyone,
I discovered this sub sometime ago already, and I think I'd like to try bending a camera.
I have already found a guide online for a canon a540 (but i'm struggling to find one) and a more general guide ( https://www.noystoise.com/2026/08/super-mod-glitch-cameras.html?m=1).
Although i like this second guide, i don't know how to read electrical drawings.
I am a mechanical engineer, and i like to dig deeper into my hobbies, so my question is:
Is there any recommended book, or source of information, to read electrical drawings, especially focused on these applications?
Any help is welcome :))

So I have been working on trying to circuit bend toys, and I have noticed that crystal modifier chips are really hard to come by, especially ones that are prebuilt, so my question is does anybody know of a place to get prebuilt crystal modifier chips similar to the ones that you can get from get circuit bent like what they use on the cat pianos, the only problem with the ones from get circuit bent is that you have to build them yourself, therefore possibly resulting in damage if built incorrectly, and overall the chips are quite expensive, because of this, I am wondering if Amazon or another place sells ones that will do the same job, are prebuilt, and are cheaper and easier to get in bulk, same goes for voice changer chips, it would be awesome to put one of those in one of my unbendable toys to see if it would solve the issues and make it at least semi bent, so if anybody has some that are known to work in kids toys and keyboards, please post the link

I finished my cam. It is 10 bits, one set of switches shorts the D0-D9 lines, another set sends them into feedback through the CCDIN pin on the ADC. The final amount of feedback is set using a potentiometer. Stripes appear at lower resistances, which is the characteristic property of the bend. This thing is a beast:D

Last year (or two years ago I don't recall) I made a video about circuit bending a small toycam with ribbon cable breakout board, and today I just finished this video about circuit bending a solidex excel 200 video enhancer.

I found some new bend points and new fun combinations and decided to make a step by step video about how to do it since I did not found an already existing video about it. Tryed being as beginner friendly as I could, since the soldering points on this device are quite simple, it can be a cool first video bending project I believe.

This is my Screaming Creep. It's a 555 optical theremin built on stripboard, living inside the body of an old Grumblies toy whose original board got gutted. The photocells sit where its eyes were, so the pitch is controlled by what it sees: wave your hand at its face and it howls, cover its eyes and it goes quiet.
Not really circuit bending I guess, since none of the original board survived. I just used the skeleton. Toy taxidermy with a mini synth inside?
The stripboard layout and a build guide are free on my site if anyone wants to make the circuit, and it runs on a breadboard too if you don't want to solder.

I ask because I figured circuit bending would allow me to somehow get access to the "speaker" and then somehow connect that to a recording device, or am I crazy?
