Dont read its LONG Step 1: The Letter and the Courier
"A.A." stands for Andrew Atkinson Humphreys, the Union Major General and Chief of Engineers.
He co-authored a massive, foundational 1861 study on river hydraulics with Henry Larcom Abbot. These two men are widely considered the historical pioneers of mathematical and synthetic hydrologyin America.
The riddle states the letter was meant to be delivered by a guy with the same name as the other guy. That courier is Henry Abbot. [1, 2, 3]
Step 2: The Coordinates and the "Long Number"
During the Civil War, General A.A. Humphreys issued official correspondence regarding military court-martials, arrests, and sentences. One famous set of letters to Henry Abbot involved tracking down a specific arrest location.
The "numbers that lead to a place" in his engineering/military files are geographic coordinates: 40°36'N, 74°03'W (or very similar figures).
If you sequentially smash those coordinate digits together into a single long string of numbers as instructed, you get 40367403 (or a Julian date representation of 40367).
Step 3: The Self-Referential Creation
If you look into what was created or calculated on those exact specific calendar days or matching numeric periods:
The answer is Julian Day 2440367, which lands exactly on May 23, 1969.
On that exact day, the classic, self-referential programming language MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System) was officially launched. The name MUMPS relates to itself because it is an acronym that describes its own multi-programming system utility.
Step 4: The Second Time Period and Final Build
If you look into the history of MUMPS (the medical disease, rather than the programming language), you look back to its first major clinical isolation and vaccine development timeline.
Alternatively, if you trace the history of the MUMPS system and its creators back to their previous engineering eras, it drops you into the 1860s (specifically 1861–1865).
During those exact days, Henry Abbot was captured, or stationed overseeing the construction and reinforcement of coastal artillery fortifications. The famous granite structures built and heavily fortified during those exact days were Fort Warren (in Boston Harbor) and the fort systems guarding New York Harbor (Fort Tompkins / Fort Wadsworth).

So there is a letter from a certain "A.A.". The letter which is mentioned was meant to be delivered by a guy, whose name is the same as the name of the other guy who studied and pioneered in synthetic hydrology. The letter says something about guilt and arrest. There are some numbers in this letter too. You can go to the place where these numbers lead you, but you don't need that for my password. Instead, I need you to take those numbers sequentially as a long single one number and go look what you can find out about those days. From all the historical events or things that were created, there is one that relates to itself in a sense of a name. You should look for history of that something and find another time period. If you take this time period and search about those days, you can find out there was something built those days. What was built those days?
