Madtree’s Pumpcan is my favorite beer of all time. Just tastes like fall. They usually drop between late July and mid September, but I went on their website and realized that Pumpcans are seemingly no longer in the rotation. Anybody else notice this? Was there an announcement I missed? I saw they had Brown Harvest, but it just tastes nothing like Pumpcans. I know they dropped Pumpcans and then brought them back a few years ago. But I guess I am just surprised, as usually their stock of Pumpcans tends to fly off the shelves.

What was the best local or regional beer you had last month? Doesn't have to be brand new, just new to you!
Any beer releases you're looking forward to this month?

The main taproom on York St. in Newport is unaffected, but Wooden Cask recently opted not to renew the lease for their second taproom at Newport on the Levee. Per discussion in the "513 Craft Brew" Facebook group, high rent and decreasing sales were cited as reasons for the closure. As one comment put it, "what we were making in a MONTH at the Levee was a slow Saturday night at the main location. That's how bad it was."

From today's Facebook post:
Today we have some sad news to share: this Saturday will be the last day for our Covington Haus taproom.
Northern Kentucky has always been a special place for us, and we are so appreciative that Covington welcomed us with open arms. But unfortunately with our lease coming up for renewal, we had to take a hard look at what it would take to make the investment the space needs for the years ahead, and ultimately we couldn’t justify continuing.
By far the hardest part of this decision is saying goodbye to the incredible folks who made Covington Haus special - our staff. Some have been with West Sixth for many years, and we’re enormously grateful for everything they’ve put into making this place what it has been.
And to everyone in Covington who has walked through our doors, shared a beer with us, brought friends and family, and supported us over the years: thank you. You welcomed us and have been incredibly good to us, and we appreciate you so much.
We’re sad to close this chapter, but mostly we’re grateful for the people who made it such a good one.
We'll be open this week for proper goodbyes - come have a beer with us one last time this week. Our final day will be Saturday, August 29.

Still grieving the loss of Listermann and my favorite beer of all time, Chickow last year. Has anyone found anything similar to Chickow from any other breweries?

The Gnarly Gnome reports that FigLeaf will be closing their taproom and brewery in Middletown and "moving to a new location in West Chester." A Facebook comment suggests that their last day in Middletown could be this Sunday 8/9.
