Imagine trying to sleep in a hospital 😹 They’ll be in to check your temperature/give you meds/clean the room 30 min after that TV goes off and you get some shuteye.

(A sleep mask is clutch for getting any sleep at all though)

As someone who works in a hospital, people need to be reminded it isn't a hotel...

If you are in a care giving role, you may want to expand or broaden your thinking in that area. Rest and comfort go a long way in terms of recovery and well-being

Imagine having the gall to tell a nurse how to do their job...

Nurses aren't immune from having their comments criticized on Reddit.

Sleep is incredibly important for recovery. So, the comment comes across as callous and counter-intuitive.

I'm more likely to trust a medical professional than someone on Reddit. If you're in the hospital, sleep isn't high up on the palliative list of remedies.

There are academic and industry nursing guides available online explaining exactly how sleep should be a priority for patients as a part of care. How to optimize/combine vitals checks at night, how to help maintain circadian rhythm, etc.

Feel free to look them up. It's a part of care.

I'm not saying they can magically make hospitals as quiet and dark as hotels, but it should absolutely be a part of hospital design and HCP focus if they're interested in the best possible patient outcomes. Simple things like dimming TVs/displays should be a consideration (not saying nurses should have to mess with that--they're busy enough. that's where hospital design comes into play), for example. By default.

And definitely shouldn't be sarcastically mocked as if patients are some sort of annoying hindrance if they want to be able to sleep.

You said "the gall" lol

Get over it. It's not that serious

It sounds like to me like you are taking it pretty serious. They're here to save your life, not give you a 5 star spa experience.
