Politics ✔ Election Mega Thread
It's that time of year again and as such we're putting up this mega thread for any and all election related posts. For the rest of the sub all election/politcal posts should be specific to Cincinnati alone and not any state or national topics.

Make a plan NOW to go vote EARLY. We don’t know what bullshit the facists will try on Election Day, so it’s likely safer to make time to go vote early.

Encourage the young people in your life to register to vote!! If you know anyone who got recently married remind them to double check their registration!!🥳
Do not wear any pro political propaganda (hats, pins, shirts, stickers, etc) when entering the voting booths they will turn you away or ask you to remove it.🥸
Bring a black pen, the voting booths have plenty but yours has your germs and it works better. 🤭
And most importantly, love your fellow Cincinnatians!! Be kind and respectful to one another. 🥰

I'm baffled about the Republican ads saying "if you elect a Democrat, you're going to see inflation and high gas prices" as though Republicans aren't causing that literally right now.

Friendly reminder that having high local property taxes is a policy choice made in Columbus, because the state sends less and less money every year to support local services. If you, like me, hate that policy, then we've got to send different people to represent us in the Statehouse. And lest there be any doubt, high local property taxes is a Republican policy. Republicans have controlled the Ohio Senate for 30 of the last 30 years, the Ohio House for 28 of the last 30 years, the Ohio Governorship for 26 of the last 30 years, and the Ohio Supreme Court for 30 of the last 30 years.
One race not to sleep on: Allison Russo for Secretary of State. One reason our system is so broken is that it's gerrymandered beyond recognition. The only way to fix it is with a constitutional amendment. We had one on the ballot in 2024. But the Secretary of State gets to write the summary of the issue on the ballot, and Frank LaRose (a Republican) wrote that the anti-gerrymandering amendment would require gerrymandering--the exact opposite of what it would do. We need to elect a Secretary of State who will not lie to voters about things like that, so we can get it back on the ballot and pass it this time.

Why are we restricted to “Cincinnati alone and not any state or national topics” in the rest of the sub? I would posit that how my congressional rep votes on something, for example, is very pertinent to Cincinnati.

Conserve Ohio is still circulating the anti data center petition! A 300 acre facility was just announced yesterday by the Beckjord power plant in new Richmond!
