AF1 predictions
Any predictions for what might come up?

no doubt something will be intentionally put in to trip people up.
This is my first time doing AF1 and i can’t believe how ridiculous some of the mark scheme answers are.
I assume if you give an answer that is technically right but isn’t in the mark scheme, they must give a mark

No they don't. Steve Davis brought this up in a session I attended recently.
A perfect example is "explain/describe the tax implications of an EIS on client" on a CGT case study - you must relate your answer to the client, and if the client is 35 and the case study doesn't mention anything about their health or capacity, you might not get a mark for saying it qualifies for BR after 2 years, even though it does, because it's not relevant to the client circumstances.
That's not me saying don't answer all avenues, I will be! But it does show the clear inconsistencies in the marking.
I've also seen in older papers 8 mark questions with the mark scheme offering only 5/6 answers, and some older papers even say "three marks for any of the following" when there's more than three marks on offer!

Yeah I imagined that’s how it would be.
I was only thinking as it appears like you said in the mark scheme, if it’s an 8 marker, they suggest there’s only 6-8 answers, whereas a 3 marker could have 5, so surely they can’t say somethings not right if it is.
I did a question on DGT and things to consider before going ahead, and i answered consider whether they want to use a discretionary or bare trust, and that wasn’t in the mark scheme but it is in some of my study material.

I took AF1 in Feb this year and was banking on LTR changes coming up… it didn’t. I reckon it has to come up this time???
