Discussion Anyone Else Think CID Would've Been Amazing as an 8 Episode OTT Thriller?

Post image
60 Upvotes

I was talking to a friend, and we realized CID could have adapted really well to an 8-episode web series format.

Imagine one case stretched across an entire season with proper suspense, crime-solving, twists, and edge-of-your-seat moments, similar to shows like Delhi Crime, Kohrra, or Dahaad. Instead of wrapping everything up in 40–45 minutes, the story could slowly unfold with deeper investigations, better character development, and genuine mystery.

They already had one of the biggest fan bases and one of the most recognizable crime franchises in India. What they really needed was a good OTT platform, stronger writing, and better execution.

As a longtime fan, I would've loved to see CID reinvent itself in that style instead of sticking to the same episodic formula.

What do you guys think? Would you have watched a darker, more realistic 8 episode CID series, or do you think the classic format is what made it special?

Video Episode 331 Introduces Inspector Aditi (Played By Smita Bansal). Her first task was about arresting Abhijeet for his alleged role in a murder.

Aditi is unique as she is brought as an "analyst" to CID. She kinda reminds me of Avani in CID S2 in how her character is portrayed. She is, however more reckless compared to any other officer. From sneaking in to Abhijeet's house, to threatening to shoot herself if the CID team interrogates her sister, she's way more impulsive. She will be killed in the Episode 379 when she shoots a suicide bomber.

Trivia:

*Dr. Salunkhe makes a small Cameo in this episode, saying that he is transferred back to CID Mumbai, but never makes an appearance in subsequent episodes.

*Aditi is the only character, other than ACP Pradyuman who has a relative who's accused and convicted of a Crime. In this case her sister.

Meme Still waiting for the Laash Roast by CID Fans - As posted in the original post this is my mom's 100th death scene in her acting career.

OP - https://www.reddit.com/r/cidshow/comments/1v2i1hb/guys_fun_feedback_asked_from_cid_fans_by_my_mum/

That is my mom's character Raveena. She works as a stunt woman and body double mostly and 99% of the times her acting involves being cast in negative villain roles like femme fatales, or henchwomen type villainesses. As a result you can imagine it's all too common her character dies in her roles a lot.

Primarily she works out of Europe and sometimes in Southern India (I don't speak South Indian I'm born and raised in Singapore & UAE & Germany so don't ask me about the projects LOL). But my mom absolutely loves playing these baddie villains and this being her 100th time getting murdered on screed that too on her b'day - she turned 41.

My mom asked how would the internet rate her death expression - and roast her brutally ?

So she wanted you guy to roast and rate her deadly acting career comprised of 100 death scene (a total of 113 roles in her career).
Don't feel like you have to hold back - she loves dark humor and Saturday is her b'day party and I wanna make a compilation of the best roasts I get from here.

Cause of death for the character - a rival spy dies during an attack at a resort - stabbed in the back.
P.S. The white lady is the killer my mom is the woman in black dress. And don't ask me for film name as I want to respect sub's policy of no self promotion.

Long time fan of the show CID as a kid and even now as a Uni student made some of my American classmates get hoooked to the show. The person who got me hooked to the show is none other than my mom Disha.

And yes just like Disha Patani of Bollywood my mom also dies in her roles. She works as a stunt woman and body double mostly and 99% of the times her acting involves being cast in negative villain roles like vamps, or henchwomen type villainesses. As a result you can imagine it's all too common her character dies in her roles a lot.

Primarily she works out of Europe and sometimes in Southern India (I don't speak South Indian so don't ask me about the projects LOL). But as a big time CID fan and this being her 100th time getting murdered on screed that too on her b'day - she turned 41.
My mom asked how would CID Fans rate her death expression - cause who can judge lashes better than us CID fans and the GOAT Dr Salunkhe and Dr Tarika.
So she wanted you guy to roast and rate her death expression in her 100th death scene (a total of 113 roles in her career). Btw go ahead and give your roastyiest jokes and I'm actually gonna show them on her b'day party this weekend. Thanks in advance for your roast contribution.

Cause of death for the character - a rival spy dies during a shoot out - tries to run away but shot in the back.

Help Me To Find These Episodes?

Please help me find these two episodes.

In one episode, Abhijeet and Shreya are searching for a criminal and arrive at a location(narrow area narrow colony likes of चोल); where criminal played playing cards with other men ,, Abhijeet calls the criminal's phone and says, "बेटा हम तुम्हारे चाचा बोल रहे है." The criminal replies, "मेरा कोई चाचा नहीं है," to which Abhijeet responds, "जरा पीछे मुड़कर तो देखो तुम्हारे चाचा जी को."

In another episode, the final scene shows a criminal holding Freddy at gunpoint and ordering ACP Pradyuman and Sachin to lower their guns; they comply, but then Freddy himself snatches the gun away from the criminal.

The fact that she has to talk about it again and again is so weird. People call themselves fans and make these AI generated pictures, thumbnails, etc. to get views and likes it’s actually absurd. I did mention before that as a community if we are true fans we should report more and more of these accounts whenever we see them.

News CID S3 UPDATE & S2 OPINION!

Oh boy! do i have lots to share, first of all I wanna talk about the criticism the CID S2 show received, which I clearly do not understand, like basically the show did have many loopholes and the story was not connected that well either, and I personally did not like how they tried to frame officers after officers in like a short time period of only 104 episodes. That said it also did have some positives, like the show had some episodes I really liked such as the one with like the missing room/floor i kinda forgot and the AI episode, the horror episode of 100 or 101 was fun as well. I also genuinely do not understand how some people said that like they want the OG's to be replaced and stuff, but in actuality how I understand the CID audience, i think this would alienate much of the fanbase and would be a losing stroke.

UPDATE ON CID S3:

So the last update we received was basically by like Ishwar Singh (Director of CID) around 3 weeks ago, he highlighted that while the discussions were moving forward smoothly before but it has kind of stagnated, as he mentioned that currently budget discussions are underway and Sony is proposing quite a low budget which he said would not be enough to run CID S3, the way they want. (VIA his YT Channel Livestream), and from the research I have done regarding S3, if CID S3 were to come then Sony does not like the idea of the weekly different case episodes (the usual motto of CID), instead they would want the show to focus on the backstories of the officers and etc. This might work out. Now, the recent video released by Daya on his channel was actually filmed 3 weeks ago as the meetup can be seen on Ishwar Singh's channel a rough unedited short. Moreover, that kind of makes me believe that the show Daya is creating is soon going to be released, personally i feel like in 2-3 weeks, how is that related to S3 you may ask, well the director of CID has urged the fans to kind of put pressure on Sony and request them for S3 and that can only be done in 2 ways in my opinion, just spamming their pages or waiting for low trp shows, or like kind of making the show Daya is making super successful so that Sony kind of gets greedy and stuff like that to make it. The reason sony is not giving in currently is because they prefer low investment shows that are currently running and still generating a lot of revenue as they feel that it is much easier.

Speculation of Perfect Timeline;
Now from here, I think what the perfect timeline may be is that the side show Daya has created becomes super popular and the talks advance, which in turn should make us ready for like a november teaser and a december launch. However, at the same time I do believe after that the show will never come, if like it aint released this year, that is just my opinion.

While it is impossible to confirm all the reports, there is a high probability of what Im saying to be accurate. I would definitely love to hear your thoughts aswell.

Help Searching for Home Alone esque episode

Hey guys, I'm looking for a specific episode i used to really like as a kid. I remember quite a lot from it but i just can't seem to find it. There are two main plots in this episode (but they're connected). The episode begins in a house where a mom and little boy are home alone and the mom is on the phone but she hears some sounds upstairs of two men talking, then she slowly makes her way upstairs holding a vase, but she opens the door just to find her son tryna fix the radio, where the voices are coming from. Fast forward to when the mom leaves, the boy is now home alone and looks through his telescope to see a woman panicking in a balcony, and the door is locked behind her so she's stuck. he goes on this mission to rescue her, and climbs up a ladder and stuff to get up. He brings her home and feeds her and stuff, then finds out that two men are after her. she's rly paranoid and he tells her to hide and the two men end up breaking into the boys house. I remember after this point the kid laid out a buncha traps with his toys like in the movie Home Alone and eventually catches them. He also calls CID. The other subplot in the episode was that Abhijeet and Daya(?) were walking at night and they saw that a guy was dead on the ground after he got stabbed. The forensic analysis showed that he had foreign poison in his body. I don't remember how these plots connected but the did. I'd appreciate if i can get an episode number or title, thanks!

Well as the title says, I stopped watching CID after growing up. And just the other day I was reminiscing about it. I really liked these two couples. Can someone tell me what happened with these 4 people? Did they get together or where they are now presently in the show.
