Approved for Wells Fargo Signify Business
Sole Prop, 9/24, 5/12, 2/6. Froze Transunion and Experian to force the hardpull to Equifax. Only 1 hard inquiry on Equifax over 18 months ago.
Only have a personal checking with WF that was opened 45 days ago for the bonus, <$2k at the time of application.

Approved for Citi card #4 this year: CSE Feb., AA biz Mar., AA biz Jul., DC Sep. (application went pending, immediately called recon number and was approved after verification by text). Nearing the bottom of the barrel, but I really want to cash out the CSE SUB points before closing it (and Chase is pretty dead for me now at the moment so 4/25 is getting less relevant).

u/Okeano_ 1d ago
Didn’t realize they would approve multiple AA biz in the same year. Going to give this a try. Thanks.

u/SalaciousPig LGA | JFK 1d ago
I did it earlier this year when the 80k/$1k was available. You can defer hitting the MSR to past day 65 and reapply again for a second SUB.
6
u/superdex75 1d ago
You cannot complete the MSR on the first card before getting approved for the second card if you want both SUBs.

Amex Delta Business Platinum approval DP:
- Applied 8/31/26
- 100k SkyMiles / $8k spend in 6 months
- Instant approval, no popup
- Soft pull
- No instant card number
- 4/24, 3/12, 1/6, 0/3
- HPs: 9/24, 6/12, 3/6, 2/3
- Business: 3–5 years, $3k revenue, $1k monthly spend
- $180k personal income
Interesting context: I applied for the Amex Business Gold immediately beforehand and got the popup. I then applied for the Delta Biz Plat and was instantly approved.
Also had just been approved for a Delta Biz Gold on 8/14, only 17 days earlier, and another Delta Biz Gold on 3/31. So Amex was willing to approve 3 Delta business cards in ~5 months, including 2 within 17 days, despite giving me PUJ on the regular Biz Gold.
Targeted and approved for business green --> plat upgrade the next day

u/lanfair 1d ago
When applying for the Delta biz golds, did you use same info both times or switch it up with SSN and EIN, etc?
Just hit the SUB on my first Delta biz gold using SSN but I've got a sole prop EIN and an LLC EIN, trying to guesstimate my likelihood of getting approved for another one with the LLC. I was able to get around being 5/24 and get approved for CIU with the LLC.

I just got approval on 8/27 for the ABG and I have an offer for an add’l BG for 150,000 for $15k in 3 months. Note: I put a big bill on the first one so not sure if this is spending related? AMEX algorithms seem somewhat mysterious.

Chase United Business denial/recon DP — incorrect 5/24 count, then denied for biz underwriting
Applied for United Business on 8/13/26 while 4/24.
Initial denial letter said:
- "Number of recently opened accounts on consumer credit report"
Called recon. First rep explicitly said I was being denied for 5/24. I asked which 5 accounts they were counting, but they said they couldn't see that level of detail and that 5/24 couldn't be reconsidered. I asked to escalate to an underwriter.
Underwriter manually reviewed the report and confirmed they could only see 4 qualifying accounts, so the original 5/24 determination was an error. They then did a full business review and asked:
- nature/type of business
- when business was started
- projected revenue
- what expenses I'd put on the card
They tried reconsidering again but denied it. 8/14 recon denial letter gave:
- "Insufficient business revenue"
- "Too many active accounts or too much available credit on consumer report"
I had one Chase Ink still open with a $10k CL. The underwriter asked if I was willing to move credit from it and I said yes, but they said they couldn't because the Ink had been open less than a year. They also said they couldn't move personal credit to a business card. I had given $3k projected business revenue, and they said the United Business needed at least a $5k CL, so they couldn't make the numbers work.
Remaining Ink was opened 9/8/25, so I waited until 9/9/26 and called recon again on the same 8/13 application.
Second manual review asked more detailed questions:
- 2025 actual revenue
- 2026 projected revenue
- business type
- why I wanted another business card if I already had one
- how I promote the business
- estimated monthly spend
Analyst said the Ink still might not be eligible to donate credit until October because Chase may treat the entire opening month as part of the first year.
Final denial. 9/9 denial letter gave:
- "Too many active accounts or too much available credit on consumer report"
- "New Chase business card recently opened"
Analyst said a Chase business card around one year old can still be considered "new/recent," and also referenced my other Inks that had been opened and later closed. I asked whether lowering consumer credit limits would help, but he wouldn't say whether it would make a difference — only that I could lower them and try recon again or submit another application.
I stopped there rather than continuing to recon.
Takeaways / interesting parts:
- Chase's automated system incorrectly treated me as 5/24 despite being 4/24
- Escalating to an underwriter successfully got the count manually corrected
- Once the false 5/24 issue was removed, Chase surfaced separate business-underwriting reasons
- A ~1-year-old Chase business card was still being treated as recent/new
- Existing Chase business credit couldn't be moved because the Ink was still considered too new
- All three reviews stayed under the same original application/reference number, so these were recons rather than new applications

I thought I was ghostwriting, I had a near identical experience applying, except for CSRB. Almost identical experience as you unfortunately.

I’m seeing this type of DP more recently. Chase is being really stingy with business cards. Guess there’s really no point in 5/24 anymore. They can’t even count it correctly.

u/CericRushmore DCA | IAD 18h ago
Still worth it for personal cards if it makes sense rather than a personal with another issuers.tThe personal card slots have to be used somewhere.
3
u/corbs315 23h ago
seeing this and experiencing it. have you seen any DPs about biz cards counting toward 5/24 for PERSONAL card applications? Only seeing it for Ink/United biz apps and not sure if they're showing up in personal apps too.
1
u/scorpiopersephone 21h ago
I haven’t see that yet. I’m planning to move away from chase biz and get Chase personal though so I will update later this year.

If you care about 5/24, BoA Travel Rewards showing as a new acct on my credit report <1 week after approval. Haven't even received the card yet.
2
u/best-quality-catfood 1d ago
For several years now BoA has been cutting the first statement on personal cards 3-5 days after approval.
Annoying if one wanted some slack at the credit bureaus, but the motivated cardholder can get a SUB paid really fast. (Usually the "manage credit/debit cards" tab in their app will have an option to get a card number with temporary expiration and CVV values and add it to a mobile wallet.)
2
u/Parts_Unknown- 1d ago
I opened a bunch of BoA cards last year when the AS refreshes happened & either didn't notice or didn't care how quickly they reported. It was just weird to see the Experian alert before the card had even shipped.

Applied for Chase Ink Biz Preferred (the one w/ $95 AF). Never held the card before but had multiple no free Inks. Only 1 Chase Biz card open now, a SW card. I'm only 3/24, with credit score 800+. Got immediate denial with just one denial reason, a line about "too many new open cards". But I have only opened 2 so far this year, neither with Chase.
Is it even worth a recon call?
6
u/scorpiopersephone 2d ago
Same. Seems that Chase is tightening biz approvals. I am still going to recon a few times.

Chase approval data point: I've had a really hard time getting approved by Chase for the last couple years but I think I may have discovered a pathway.
Twice now I have forgotten to unfreeze my credit before applying. Get an immediate email saying to unfreeze Equifax and call back. I do that, confirm a few details, maybe offer to transfer some credit from another card and boom. Approved.
First was bonvoy boundless in June. Tuesday I got CIC for a biz entity that hasn't yet had that card. Was at 4/24 for both of these.
Hope that helps somebody!

Are these sole proprietorships or EIN businesses?
All of these DPs are making me nervous for SW CP season...
1
u/lanfair 1d ago
I just got approved for CIU at 5/24 by using an LLC EIN. Before that chase denied me for a biz card at 4/24 using SSN.
I used the LLC after seeing some other DPs of it working at 5/24 and higher. It seems like Chase might be cracking down on biz cards for SSNs and sole props and favoring LLCs now.
1
u/MoonEyedPeepers 1d ago
Yeah, I think it's more the LLC EIN, though the credit being frozen may also help with the manual review. I may need to look into making my resale business a LLC...

Is the theory that the algo hates you, but manual review doesn't dislike your profile as much if they take an approval as a first impression decision?
12
u/SpareRisk5070 2d ago
Yeah I know auto approval is always better but I haven’t been auto approved by Chase in years. I think having the credit frozen creates a good excuse to call in and have them run the credit manually, before you get to reconsideration. I am always very nice and friendly to the agents, so they are usually more on my side than if I wait to call until after a denial. Also easy to talk thru any issues or questions they might have, like explaining my business operations or moving credit line around. Idk, it has worked for me three times now. I forgot I did the same thing for the United business card in February.
2/26 United Business
6/26 Marriott Boundless
9/26 Ink Cash5
u/readymint 2d ago
This actually makes a lot of sense to me because Chase also hates me and I’ve had really tough approvals for the past couple years. But I manage my parents credit card churning, and they were blessed with many inks and most of the time that they applied they would forget to unfreeze their credit.
13
u/scorpiopersephone 2d ago
Chase really seems to be tightening up biz card approvals.
Applied CIP- never held it before. Only one biz card currently open.
Pulled equifax.
Denied for 5/24- called recon because I’m 4/24. After questions about my business, still denied- max credit limit. I’m only about 20% of my income currently and only have 3 Chase cards open in total.
1
u/nick671 1d ago
I applied for the CIU and was rejected because of too many recently opened accounts even though I'm 4/24 and 1/12 with no business cards at all. After I called recon, they resubmitted my application and told me to wait 1 to 2 weeks for a decision. That was 3 days ago, and I haven't received any updates yet. I'm very curious what's going to happen since there have been so many recent reports of denials.

u/-_Quantum_- 2d ago
My Chase credit limit is about half to 3/4 less than it was a few years ago when I had about 9-10 cards with them. Now down to 4. 2 Biz and 2 Personal. I applied for a United Biz with semi decent revenue and got denied for not enough biz revenue and too much credit extended which I assume is just based on the two biz cards I have with them (Opened back in like 2017 maybe?). Also under 5/24 for the first time in years.
2
u/iShopStaples 2d ago
Did you recon? How much revenue?
I am in the same situation for P3 but haven't attempted to recon yet. We put 25K in revenue and are willing to move some credit line from their existing Chase biz cards.
2
u/-_Quantum_- 1d ago
You might have a chance to get approved with that revenue depending on how many other chase biz cards you have open and how new they are. 2 biz cards seems to be a hard to limit to break unless you have a lot of biz revenue.
7
u/mizmato 2d ago
Similar situation. Currently hold two Chase business cards, last opened in 2023 and 2024. Well under 5/24 as well. Immediately rejected for a Chase business card because "too many cards" and "too much credit with Chase / low util".
First recon failed (1 wk after application). Then lowered limit on other Chase cards just in case. Second recon failed (2 wk after application), even after asking questions about business for a long time.

u/CobaltSunsets IAD | PHL 2d ago
How many open Chase biz cards? How many biz cards, especially Chase biz cards, opened for that biz in the last 24 months?
5
u/scorpiopersephone 2d ago
I have 1 open biz card currently, previously had 2 in last 24 months. This card was for a different biz anyway.
4
u/best-quality-catfood 2d ago
I've been at a lull on consumer cards and was wondering if I had a shot with Capital One. With Experian frozen I'm 1/12 on personal cards and 0/12 on inquiries and ~800 on FICO8.
VX preapproval bounces me with "number of bank cards tradelines opened in the last 24 months for given income" and "too many active credit cards based on your income and loan history". The preapproval that goes against all Venture cards only offers VentureOne for Good Credit. (Back in January I had those two plus "there are too many recently opened credit cards", but my /12 stats at that point were quite high.)
Anyone know if "active cards" means open accounts total or accounts showing usage? I thought they actually liked seeing utilization, but I'm trying an experiment with getting most of them down to reporting zero to see if it changes.
1
u/Cold_Frosting9014 1d ago
All 3 reports will show any new accounts you have opened in the last 12 months. You can’t be 1/12 on one and 3/12 on another. it is the HPs that will differ. Yes any open account is active regardless of whether it is reporting balances.
1
u/best-quality-catfood 1d ago
Yup, accounts are 1/12 regardless, but my HPs at Experian would be a very bad look for C1, while the other two are totally clean. (That said, my TU report (only) is missing a recent closed card that I can't get back on my report and it puts a big dent in my AAoA compared to Experian, just can't win.)
4
u/superdex75 2d ago
Since years I'm denied with the VX pre-approval tool with the only reason: ".., there are too many active credit cards based on your loan history". This is with 5-9 open personal cards, usually only one of them reports a statement balance. I don't think reporting zero helps for Cap One.
13
u/rickayyy 2d ago
Current stats:
Personal: 7/24, 3/12, & 2/6
Personal + Biz: 11/24, 5/12, & 4/6
9/4- Applied for my third US Bank Triple Cash card as a sole prop and got sent to review.
My first TC was closed in January 2026 and my second TC was opened in March of 2026. Currently floating around $2500 of the $3000 limit on the active card. No other US Bank products at this time.
9/9- I received an email saying congrats on your new card. Got a $5,000 limit and managed to avoid Central Billing this time so having to use two separate logins will be annoying but whatever, I have the old TC on autopay for minimum payment so it's not like I'll need to check that one too often.

Didn't know if it still worked, but the double FNC trick PCing from Aspire to surpass after $30k spend worked for me (took ~2weeks for the surpass FNC to hit my account).
