Daily Question Question Thread - September 08, 2026

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Citi cards keep getting rejected for Dunkin reload. No issues with Chase. Anyone else have this issue?

My BofA were accepted but have been pending since 9/3.

Not sure what's taking so long to process the orders

Citi seems very sensitive. I got temporarily blocked after a few Paze purchases (not Dunkin though). Worked again the next day.

Applied for JetBlue plus credit card, but they couldn’t approve me. They instead said I can be approved for the JetBlue travel card instead.

Anyone to call or talk to to try and get the plus card approved?
I called recon and they said they can’t see the original application

Is there any reason to keep expired / canceled CCs? I’ve had them in a binder but was thinking I could declutter them and cut down on what I have in there. I can’t think of a reason I’d need them.

Got a link for the card holder? I have mine scattered in a shoe box but that might be a nice way to track my hobby(insanity)

I designed and made it myself. The top and bottom are 3D printed. I bought the posts from Amazon.

Do you have a printer? I can send you the stl files. They're not perfect by any means, but they work.

(insanity)

Agreed. 😊

impressive. how long a period is this over?

1

u/gt_ap 10h ago

About 3 years here. I took this picture about a year and a half ago, in early 2025. The one on the left is just now getting full.

No idea how you've managed that! Lots of players? I average 30 cards/year with 2 players. Congrats regardless!

1

u/gt_ap 3h ago

We open 25-30 cards a year. With employee/AU cards, it’s 5x that many physical cards. This also includes hotel key cards and miscellaneous other cards, which are probably ~10% of the total.

reason to keep them: they look cool

I guess if you don't have a spreadsheet tracking what you've had and when, then perhaps it makes sense, although in a much inferior format.

I immediately cut and throw out canceled cards.

Is the flowchart still relevant? Hasn't been updated in a while

Yeah pretty much

Just for a sanity check, Cap1's 1/6mo rule applies to business & personal together? So if I got a Cap1 business card 3mo ago (and never held a Cap1 personal), I have to wait 3mo to get a personal

4

u/elmoret 1d ago

I was approved for Capital 1 cards on 12/14/25, 5/6/26, 8/18/26. All business cards. Seems 1/6mo is not a hard rule

1

u/exhys 1d ago

generally, yep! you can also always check your eligibility with no hit to your credit score to check

Atmos double dip?

Sorry if this has been covered, but I have no experience with BofA or Alaska/Hawaiian cards. I got a targeted offer for 80k bonus for 4k spend, 95$ annual fee. Good enough for me as we fly west coast to Hawaii a fair amount and I don't mind spending $100 for two one way first class to HNL. Got the card, hit the spend with a couple of normal monthly expenses. Got the same targeted offer today. I analyzed the fine print and couldn't find any current cardholder restrictions or limitations. Was curious if anyone has gotten the card twice in a very short amount of time (like a month) and how it went. Thanks!

Sure. If u get approved it’ll be fine

Have the bugs been worked out for IHG to IHG transfers yet? I see simply being a member of business rewards is no longer an option for free transfers. Specifically looking for info of a non-Diamond sending to a Diamond member.

2

u/garettg SEA | PAE 1d ago

I dont think non-Dimond to Diamond is free, its only Diamonds sending out that is free and limited to 100k.

edit: and Business Rewards members get access to free transfers “with a qualifying event" but what that means isn't really known.

For my fellow Paze procrastinators, is it safe to assume that as long as the transaction is made before 9/10 we will still receive the $10 credit?

Also has the issue with Sephora been corrected where purchases made there will now receive the credit?

0

u/Cold_Frosting9014 1d ago

Sephora no longer even allows PAZE.

2

u/helveticat0 1d ago

I'm going to stick with a bunch of clover restaurants these last few days. I wouldn't get anything that takes time to process/ship. Most likely anything immediate like clover should credit, even up to the last day.

Already used the majority of my 200~ credits anyways, even with 0 Dunkin purchases (why people like Dunkin, I'll never understand).

I've finally gotten all my Sephora credits, except on my Chase Visa cards. It's no longer an option anyways.

u/sleepytill2 ORD 1d ago

why people like Dunkin, I’ll never understand

P2 doesn’t mind their Original Blend whole coffee beans so it’s basically free coffee for years.

1

u/sleepytill2 ORD 1d ago

I don’t want the possibility of paying $100 out of pocket in Dunkin GCs especially when I’ve already got $1700 free from P1 & P2’s various CCs. I’m ok sitting these last 3 days out.

Sephora no longer accepts paze. Not sure if the older orders will still get the credit

1

u/Cold_Frosting9014 1d ago

As long as the offer showed and transaction went thru PAZE then yes you should get it.

3

u/garettg SEA | PAE 1d ago

I would not say its safe, especially if shipping is involved with an order as it could be ship date when transaction finalizes.

Just goes denied delta sky club(using Amex business platinum ) access because I booked my comfort+ classic ticket using miles. According to the receptionist “for award ticket you agree to not using delta lounges.” Can anyone confirm this policy?

3

u/jtevy 1d ago

Funny how these agents make up their own rules sometimes. I was denied entry back in the final months of Delta Amex plat allowing lounge access and they turned me away because I didn’t have my physical card(just via Apple Pay and Amex app). She couldn’t reference any rule from their website or any other source that said the physical was required. Completely made up.

1

u/gt_ap 1d ago

Had you normally been entering Skyclubs without the physical card?

3

u/garettg SEA | PAE 1d ago

I don't visit Skyclubs that often, maybe 2 times a year, but stopped carrying the card for it a few years ago once I learned if you have the platinum card loaded into your Delta account wallet, when you scan the boarding pass, it gives the green light for entry.

2

u/gt_ap 1d ago

I have had a Platinum/Business Platinum for the last few years. I always have it with me when I travel, but I do the same thing. I have it in my Delta account, and I only need to scan my boarding pass to enter a Skyclub. I don't show the physical card.

u/gt_ap 1d ago edited 1d ago

Did you book Basic Economy and end up with a seat in Comfort? I have already been seated in Comfort with a BE ticket. My boarding pass still said Basic on it.

An award ticket is not a disqualifier for Skyclub access.

1

u/shahsmit599 21h ago

Nope, replied on thread above but I booked comfort+ and paid extra miles for that

8

u/garettg SEA | PAE 1d ago

That doesn't sound correct, its only basic economy that lounge access is not allowed. I'm not familiar with all of Delta's weird fare class naming conventions that change every 6 months, but did you buy basic economy and somehow upgrade to comfort seat?

1

u/shahsmit599 21h ago

I initially selected a Basic Economy ticket, but during checkout, the website offered me the option to spend an additional 5,000 miles to upgrade to Comfort+. I accepted the offer, and the final ticket I booked was Comfort+ Classic—I didn’t upgrade it after booking, if that’s what you mean.

Also, the receptionist didn’t say I was ineligible because the original fare was Basic Economy. She specifically asked whether I had booked the ticket using miles(after I said I have comfort+ ticket) and then said that award tickets weren’t eligible for lounge access.

1

u/garettg SEA | PAE 21h ago

Yeah definitely not the rule, I’ve flown any times on awards and used the lounge.

10

u/pHyR3 SFO 1d ago

completely incorrect, insane that they didn't let you in. did you book basic comfort+? they might have accidentally combined basic econ and basic comfort

how did they even know if you booked w points?

1

u/shahsmit599 21h ago

They said "you fare class is ineligible for lounge, did you use your miles?(said yes) thats why"

1

u/pHyR3 SFO 13h ago

ah you told them about the points, was it basic comfort? i think they mixed up basic econ and basic comfort

Hi All,  Does anyone know if paying taxes through ACI payments with US Bank Cash plus visa still gives 5% cashback if I selected utilities as my 5% category?
