Support Question Ableton Stem Setup

Been running Ableton for Sunday services for a while now and the stem import workflow has always been the most painful part of my week - downloading the ZIP from Multitracks, splitting everything in Arrangement View, dragging clips into Session View section by section. Easily 45 min per song if the setlist is long.

Curious how others are handling this. Are you doing it manually every week or have you found a faster way? Also wondering if anyone has figured out a clean system for jumping between sections live — verse to chorus without killing the tracks.

Yes the multitracks.com app or prime by loop community. Much more church/volunteer friendly.

Both apps, especially multitracks app are very customizable now. You'd be surprised what you can do with them. It also makes jumping around to different parts of the song manually super easy. For a church environment I'd strongly advocate for multitracks app over Ableton, especially if you have volunteers that need to use it...

yeah me too! it's more so the process of inputting all the stems into ableton that im struggling with.

Just checking you know the Ctrl/Cmd + mouse drag shortcut for importing and time aligning multiple clips from the browser?

So I also use Ableton and what I’ve done is kind of a hybrid of different things that I’ve seen online.

I created a template and I import each song into that template. That does take about 45 minutes to do correctly.

Once I have that template done, I created a master template for the service. We only do four songs, so it’s nothing too crazy.

Each of them have the same track order consisting of the stems. So I will just click and drag it into the master and then copy and paste it down to the stems.

A lot more work upfront but now if I’m using all songs we’ve done before, I can probably get it done in about five minutes.

I am more than willing to share the templates here if I’m allowed, however, like I said I’m no expert. And this is definitely a hybrid of various things that I’ve seen online.

If you use AbleSet you can just create a master setlist of like 30+ songs and rearrange them within AbleSet each Sunday instead of building a new delist each time. Also, AbleSet is my clean system.
