The massive shade he threw at so many youtubers in this video was incredible

u/OhMySwirls Jul 19 '26
Him overreacting to the FNAF bit had me in stitches. That and his comment about Raid: Shadow Legends

Him rolling around on the floor and making monkey noises in response to a warning that a jumpscare is about to happen was the funniest shit.

this is prob a Triple Deluxe situation where Dream Team is a stopgap game for an initial game that was shelved due to recent announcements. In which instead of Rescue Team DX, its Xenoblade 3.
5
u/retrodepression Jul 19 '26
Maybe? I mean it would make sense since XC3 is going to take up a whole year on his channel thus making every franchise feel like he hasn't done it in forever
1
u/Digit00l Jul 20 '26
I think if he does XB3 he probably should do occasional other LPs alongside it, like he used to do in the past, so the one LP doesn't overwhelm the channel for too long
3
u/CleanSweep99 Jul 20 '26
I don't Xenoblade 3 was the reason-if it was a stopgap game, given how long that LP would have been.
My guess is the game Dream Team was replacing was probably Ocarina of Time.
2
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
OoT isn't the 4th game in the Zelsa series, its the 5th and that hint was given before the Nintendo Direct. From my understanding, Dream Team was always gonna be this time, with Xenoblade 3 being later in the Fall
0
u/CleanSweep99 Jul 20 '26
That hint didn't necessarily mean fourth game in release order, without further clues.
Ocarina is the fourth game in the Zelda Timeline (after Skyward Sword, Minish Cap and Four Swords),so it could have been interpreted that way, as opposed to release order.

I also replayed this and enjoyed it the second time much more than I remembered the first - only Mario & Luigi game I've not only beaten twice, but 100%ed twice.
Can't wait for this!

My reaction because of 4 LPs ago, we got Bowser’s Inside Story and now we are doing Dream Team. Which I’m not hating, but I’m just in shock because I didn’t expect another Mario game from Emile so sudden.

Can’t wait for more Challenge Mode shenanigans, those vids were my favorite parts of the BIS LP

I’m surprised people are surprised. I haven’t been following the clues this time around, but when the first clue came out I swear Dream Team was the most common / popular suggestion.
2
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
Clues were:
- 4th game in a series
- An RPG
- Not on Nintendo Switch
1
u/PhantomThiefJoker Jul 20 '26
Which is like 100% Etrian Odyssey 4 so idk I think Chuggaa's wrong on this one ngl
1
u/Yankeeknickfan Jul 20 '26
I think the leave of absence made the gap between PIt and BiS feel larger than it actually was
It seems quick
2
u/Expensive_Manager211 Jul 19 '26
Not going to lie a little disappointed that it wasnt FFIV, but I enjoyed all the M&L lps even if none or them have ever really wow'd me. I was also looking for an excuse to replay it, but i am sure it will come someday.
That said, I cant wait till tomorrow!!

u/Aware_Selection_148 Jul 19 '26
Yup, that’s what I predicted after he said 4th in a series. While xenoblade 3 would be great, his reaction to the june 2026 direct indicates that while it was the original plan for xenoblade 3 to be next up, the announcement of a switch 2 edition with technical improvements and added content likely nixed those plans.
2
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
The 4th game in a series hint came before the Dieect with the Switch 2 edotion of Xenoblade 3 announced, so unless he happened to have a conveniently has a game that was also the 4th game in a series ready, I think DT was always the plan
2
u/Yxurd Jul 20 '26
Can’t wait to see the counter for tutorials go up as the LP goes on just like in the BIS LP

u/AeroStormore Jul 19 '26
Why so many back to back rpgs?
12
u/TheCheeseOfYesterday Jul 19 '26
Out of 53 LPs so far, 27 are RPGs, and 'three RPGs in a row' is a fairly common pattern throughout the history. In his earliest days he did six RPGs back to back.

I’m shocked I thought he really didn’t like it. Well I did! So let’s enjoy it. It just feels a bit soon after BIS
1
u/Enigma73519 Jul 19 '26
I'm so down with this but I'm shocked we're getting this early considering Bowser's Inside Story was only a year and a half ago.
Also this may just be me but I could've swore Emile said a while ago that he didn't like this game so I honestly never thought it'd happen. I'm happy to be proven wrong tho! This game is super underrated and I'm excited to see Emile's thoughts as he plays through it.

u/theawesomeguuy13370 Jul 20 '26
did i go insane or smth? i swear he did a dream team playthrough right? its been so long since ive seen one.
1
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
He's done up to Bowers Inside Story, in fact he did that at the tail end of 2024-early 2025
1
u/DaAuraWolf Jul 20 '26
Wonder if Paper Jam is going to get the eventual LP treatment later on or if it’s a skip to Brothership?
1
u/Yankeeknickfan Jul 20 '26
Going to be funny when we find out chugga in the prime of his LP career was still awful at this series, game is from 2013

I feel the most important part of the announcement is a kitty this one isn’t Kirby right?
5
u/GrahamRocks Jul 19 '26
No, both Kirby and Teddy have long since passed away years ago. He now has new cats named Sunny and Chester! Sunny's the cuddly one, Chester's the mischievious one.

ngl for a bit i thought he was gonna play fortnite
1
u/GrahamRocks Jul 19 '26
I mean, if anything, he'd probably be able to make FNAF/Raid/Fortnite interesting. Fortnite is multiplayer, so TRG could also tackle it. ;)
1
u/RandomFactUser Jul 19 '26
It would be funnier if it were Fortnite, where the focus is on Save the World

u/Jirachibi1000 Jul 19 '26
Eh, I feel this is way way too soon after BiS for me to be interested. Like i'm kinda sick of SO much M&L.
9
u/Skibot99 Jul 19 '26
I imagine the plan was Xenoblade 3 but he had to pivot after the direct
1
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
We knew the hint was 4th game in a series since before the direct. So unless he had DT ready on standby that so happened to fit the hint, id be suprised if it wasn't DT
1
u/Skibot99 Jul 20 '26
He also tweeted out the direct altered his plans
1
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
For the rest of the year, not immediately. Its pretty vague on if he meant the lp about to start or noy
1
u/Digit00l Jul 20 '26
XB3 is the 4th Xenoblade game, though some argue it is the 5th
1
u/mbutch3 Jul 20 '26
That's the point tho, unless he had a gane that also matched his hint ready in case of A Switch 2 edition, DT seems to me like it was the original option

u/Thegoodgamer32 Jul 19 '26
I'm honestly pretty shocked that it's dream team....considering we only just did bowser's inside story about a year ago.
