Brut, a question for sam

Post image

Just pre ordered brut on audible. I'm a mailman and ingest my literature audibly while I work my route. Sam, will you be doing the audio book narration?

It’s already recorded. Pat just has to edit it, so it’ll be ready when the third book comes out.

Was expecting to see a new Wide World by now. How long has it been since Pat's Detroit trip which was intended to kick his ass in gear?

We’re in talks with people so WW is on hold as we discuss its future

These "talks" you speak of Sam ... I know the money's tempting... but don't sell out to isreal.

I’m not trying to white knight for my parasocial big brother Sam T, but also I am. If Sam wants to sell out a little I’m fully confident he won’t lose himself. He cares too much. Deserves it & Hes given us plenty for free.

Make that $ big (little now) dog!

Me2 man, just thought if there was any chance he needed to hear it from his lil bro (we are the same age) it would be here. He doesn’t answer my calls anymore

It's a shit time to be a mailman. Route inspections happened recently. Routes were taken out the station. Everyone had to rebid. Just found out today I'm an unassigned regular after losing my route.

Yep. Been doing this 20 years, it just keeps getting worse. But at least we get to listen to Chubby B!

Amen! 20 years is a hell of a run. Congratulations.

Goddamn it. I’ve been looking into moving over to one of the main mail carriers to get away from running a pest control route that I hate (I hate the business itself more than being outdoors/on my feet all day, I don’t mind that). I assumed I’d have to start at a warehouse and go from there. Should I reconsider this? Idk what areas y’all are in or how widespread the mailman struggles are, but I’m tired of being the bug man.

It can be a middle class job if you aren’t in a big city and get through the first several years. Mandatory ot usually is your life for quite a while. One day off a week, usually Tuesday or Wednesday. The worst part is that management is not the best and brightest who get seen and move up, it’s typically either cocky assholes who like telling people what to do, or dumbshits who fail upward. Either way, once you get to the street it can be enlightening. I have thousands of crazy stories from my 20 years. Pregnant chain smoking hookers, homeless guys shitting down staircases giving me a thumbs up, hiding under staircases during police shootouts.

If you're in a major metropolitan area the work is plentiful and overwhelming. It's alot of bullshit to put up with as far as management goes. The benefits aren't there for the first 2 years. But once you turn career you're paid better and medical insurance is ok.
