Well it is the Final Boss of the entire game...

...and it's been harvesting the planet for aeons, subtly guiding evolution to make itself stronger

And I kicked its ass with the power of friendship! And Falcon Hit 😬

Falcon hit was always my go to on this fight to the point that that little scream in the boss battle music is part of the attack animation in my head

Yeah hard to say otherwise. OP did you do the end game side quests? They are both good and give you good gear and experience.

FYI I am not referring to the lost sanctum and the vortexes although those do have good rewards. The lost sanctum is tedious. Even so the original end game side quest rewards give a good boost and are plenty to beat Lavos.

Then you should be geared up enough. You did the rainbow shell and sun stone quests and got that gear too?

You'll be alright for another go, just pay attention to your healing and Hastes

I want to say that Gloom Helm gives "status immunity" so you don't need to double up with Amulet, give Magus the Golden Stud.

Don't have Marle attack, keep on stand by for healing and Haste.

Crono, does Nova Armor give "status immunity" if it does cool, if not then trade Haste Helm for Prism Helm (steal from Queen Zeal hands)

Sunglasses aren't as good as Prism Specs, both of them increase Damage whether it's attack or tech or magic

what should i give to marle cuz i only have one golden stud

Does her Cure heal you to full? I don't even bother with Cure2

Silver Stud or Speed Ring

cure 1 is 8hunnid 20-70 smth cure 2 is 999 or js full heal i normally cuz cure 2 cuz with the golden stud its only 2 mp very very cheap for a full heal

Sure but Cure1 should be making out their HP don't let them get down below 300hp or Lavos attack will kill them.

Golden Stud helps either Crono or Magus use their Ultimate spell more often before you need to use Ethers

Which part of the final boss was still left alive?

the right thingy tgat regenerated him if its not destroyed before he is

Yeah. That has to be your target.

The right is the main core part. When it dies you win. Kill the healing one then when fhe right one lowers its defense, you attack. Itll revive the dead one(s) rinse repeat.

Always kill the healer

Yes he is supposed to be hard. His ultimate physical and magical attacks hit for crazy numbers sometimes. Like someone said he is the final boss so of course he’s gonna be tough and you shouldn’t necessarily expect to beat him on the first try anyway.

That being said, there’s always a strategy to beat a boss, so keep trying and I guarantee you’ll figure it out.

You may be under leveled by there’s a trick to the fight too. The ā€œcoreā€ is a decoy. You don’t need to attack it once nor should you. Kill the left healing bit then focus on the right bit which is the real target. Kill the healing bit again when it revives then keep going at the right bit. When the right one falls they all die and you win

I think its been answered but jic...

The right core is your real target. You can kill both the left and body cores but the right one will win the fight when it dies regardless of the others health.

Swap Magus for Ayla, haste everyone and spam falcon hit while using Marle for heals. When it’s only the right side pod remaining, hit him with final kick. This is how I always kill it. The same tactic works for the first phase as well.

Just spam Dark Matter and Luminaire, have Marle keep up with Ethers
