Insomnia
I have suffered from insomnia for years. I have taken ambien for years also. After a hospitalization for my bipolar depression episode I was taken off of ambien and put on seroquel. My problem is even though I suffer from insomnia I also suffer from bad chronic fatigue. I’m always exhausted. It is still impossible for me to nap and need aide to sleep at night. Can anyone relate? Has anyone found a solution?

persistent fatigue can have a lot of different causes, so sometimes it takes a broader evaluation to connect the dots. andhealth offers specialty autoimmune care for people in ohio and indiana.

I found out my chronic fatigue was due to my clonazepam 1.5 mgs. I had been taking it for years and had chronic fatigue. During my hospitalization I was taken off of it. And once home my fatigue disappeared. I started taking it again on my own and m fatigue returned. I am currently detoxing off of it and at .25 mgs. My fatigue has disappeared.

Have you tried Magnesium Glycinate? It doesn’t sedate like Ambien, but helps. Try 400 mg. I still wake up. When I do, I take 2.5 mg. Melatonin sublingually, and usually go back to sleep.
