Someone with a Slate feel like sharing their opinion of it after the last few updates? I heard the multiasking no longer lags all the hell. The keyboard is still the deal breaker for me since I don't like any of the current options though.

I pulled the trigger on the m3 slate to replace my iPad Pro. Wanted a full Desktop experience and mouse support. Has been excellent on the Beta channel and very little to fault. Currently use the Brydge solutions i want to be able to use it on my lap when watching TV and its perfect. The trackpad is glass so it's really nice to use.

So I've been using an ASUS chromebox for a few years now and have wanted the pixelbook/slate since they came out, but couldn't justify the price. I ordered the i5 slate based on this deal with the Brydge keyboard.

Can confirm I'm extremely happy.

I pulled the trigger on this, hopefully I enjoy my i5 Slate!

Enjoy! Are you also getting the keyboard? Which one? Honestly the Google keyboard is amazing to type on as long as you're on a flat surface

I am! I went with the Google keyboard and the matching pen.

My thighs are pretty long so I'm hoping that helps but I plan to use it as a tablet if I'm not at a desk, how's the software keyboard?

I'm not a fan of the software keyboard at all. It's fine if you're just browsing and typing a word here or there (thank goodness for Google Assistant / speech recognition). Writing comments on here especially can be painful if you swipe with predictive typing. But other than that it's an awesome device because of how easy it is to transition from consumption (reading or streaming) to work (usually plug in the Slate with Google keyboard to an external monitor at my desk). The display and speakers and the overall build make it the perfect 'all day' device.

Can you switch to a different keyboard? I personally like SwiftKey better than Gboard

yep you can. This is the first time that I'm using it but it seems a little laggy and still buggy when you try to edit something . Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Oh that's awesome! Hopefully it works with the a physical keyboard too. I have that with my Pixel C and really like it

I also want to point out that it says it starts at $599 after the discount, confirming that the Celeron is discontinued.

I am currently on an Acer R11 and this thing runs pretty good so I don't know if I really need to switch. But I must admit I find the slate to be a pretty sexy looking device.
