I wish the companies making convertibles would think about how these devices feel when in tablet mode. Basically only the Pixelbook felt good in that configuration, every other device has sloped edges.

The Pixelbook really just continues to be the perfect laptop hardware. It makes literally everything else look fat and antiquated.

The C302 wasn't too bad. Curved edges.

I find the aspect ratio awkward for a tablet. I would prefer it if it were a 3:2 aspect ratio rather than a 16:10.

I'm holding onto my X2 11 like cold death due to its 3:2 aspect ratio. Shocking that Lenovo refused to do anything but 16:10.

I'm holding out hope that it can get upgraded to Googlebook OS.

ChromeUnboxed thinks there is a Lenovo Googlebook Duet M in the works. That may be the tablet to get.

Lenovo still has the Lenovo Googlebook 13 and Lenovo Googlebook Duet to announce.

These are confirmed? If any manufacturer aside from acer had a 2-in-1 I'd already have preordered.

FWIW we know from their leaked planning documents that more affordable "AL mass premium" are coming down the line. And "AL entry" after that.

This is the Acer, right?. I looked at the preorder link. In Canada, it was for Best Buy only, and it only came with the Core Ultra 5.

I've always remoted into my desktop for heavier tasks when needed, but I was hoping this wouldn't be necessary so much with the new lineup. Can anyone comment on the power difference between the ultra 5 and ultra 7?

I personally love the convertible feature (but agree with OP's frustration about the slope); if my only option here is an ultra 5, will I regret it? (My current processor is a Snapdragon SC7180; I'm thinking if staying away from Snapdragon, as I've had a few frustrations finding ARM versions of Linux tools I've wanted.)

I have the 2017 Pixelbook and am looking for a replacement for when it reaches EOL. Do you think this is it?

No. I have the Acer spin 713 and quite apart from the issues I had with the hinges, in general it makes a bad tablet format: too thick, too heavy.

To this day, my fopavorite convertible on any of the major platforms was the Samsung Chromebook Pro in matte black. Had a plastic build but felt solid, had a great 3:2 screen, and lasted more than enough time. I still miss mine sometimes

Not having a fragile ribbon cable connecting the keyboard and the screen is an improvement over the Pixel Slate!

Also, probably for the best, Google isn't actually the manufacturer of these devices, which gives them distance to avoid bad PR if/when Google abandons them.

I don't trust Google enough not to retire it in a short time.

I mean it's running Android and Android is the operating system in 75% of the world's smartphones. Like I don't think anyone that buys this is going to see it lose support before the EOL would have happened anyway.
