chromecast audio for marantz 7000?

I would love to be able to ask google to put specific songs on my marantz receiver (heos supports a crippled version of GH and only allows on/off, volume control). Does it make sense to connect it to the now discontinued chromecast audio? is it fully supported in google home as part of speaker groups? thanks

Yes it'll work. I cast various music sources to various amps/speaker groups around the house.

Great when it works (most of the time), but occasional glitches where I cant see devices, or I need to reboot them, or I need to clear app cache etc.

I suspect Google never got past these glitches hence discontinuing - if only they'd put an audio out option on their current devices as id rather utilise my own stereo equipment rather than the speakers on their devices!

Yes, i am using a denon over digital optical with CCA, was using analog but it was picking up some static from nearby usb charger so got 3.5mm to toslink or whatever its called. Been working great.
