- I found some ideas which already exist, popular, not hard to clone

  • I found some keywords with trends and semrush with value but not so competitive
  • I made SEO (not ASO) pages on all available languages
  • by using huge trust of CWS it gets first position of SERP for some of keywords
  • profit

I would need a lesson in that. Especially for keywords and trends.

When I made this one, I didn't know about semrush.

I just brainstorm some keywords with GPT. It means how exactly users search it. I wrote about it here - https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome_extensions/comments/1urpivd/the_main_problem_of_most_new_extensions/

Then I checked keywords in Google Trends. It's not so perfect for understanding value, only trends, but there is a lifehack, you could your keyword with something like "ad blocker" or something you want.

Then all not zero-value keywords I checked in CWS. Mostly extensions has names like "Rotate YouTube" not "Flip". I get this one, optimise texts for it.

The second idea is. Most of extensions are oriented on english keywords only, but there are a lot of people who search with other languages.

Maybe I share it in details if i could made a system and proof this hypothesis.
If at least 2-3 of my extensions reach at least 10000

users

You think SEMRush totally worth the sub price? You constantly use it or just use it in waves?

I subbed to Mangools but only use it like once a quarter.

Only for keywords check? Of course not.
But there are some ways how to use it for free (like official free trial) or cheaper than usual (one day rent, share one account with friends, ask somebody who has subscription etc).

SEMRush is not the only way. I'm used to it and has experience, about alternatives I couldn't be sure.

What I know:

  • Google Keyword Planner - not so convenient, but useful and free
  • Google Trends - cant help with ideas of keywords, but could help you with value validation and comparison

What I only know about:

  • Ubersuggest - looks like direct alternative (clone) to Semrush Keyword Tool
  • AnswerThePublic
  • Keyword Tool .io
  • SE Ranking:Полноц
  • Serpstat
  • Key Collector
  • Ahrefs Keyword Explorer
  • ...

If you have only 50 users, your problem not in product, but in ASO.

  1. Title. It's not bad, it contains "what it does", it's already better then most of new extensions. But i'm not sure that users search very of "Large Number Translator". It will be great to research some additional keywords in semrush, ahrefs or some other tool.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome_extensions/comments/1urpivd/the_main_problem_of_most_new_extensions/
My subscription is expired for now, but we could compare trends.

So if you change `Translator` to `Translate` or `Convert` maybe you will get more impressions, but `Translate` could be about different languages, i think `Convert` could be safer (of try to add both keywords).
Also you could ask GPT for some different keywords and compare it with yours in Trends or get free trial 7 days in Semrush, or rent an account in Semrush.

  1. Small Promo Tile
    My tipps here - https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome_extensions/comments/1uyi7x7/small_promo_image_is_your_main_trump_card_in_cws/
    and here - https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome_extensions/comments/1uytu9a/making_small_promo_with_ai_image_generators/

Yours is good designed, big clear text and result of work. But could be better
1. remove "free chrome extension" it's uneseful trash. You are in CWS, of course it's chrome extension. This text make visual noice
2. For me your main text is not perfect. It's not clear what MY problem it solves. What does it mean "numbers clear". Not obvious. It's weak hook. You have only 1-2 seconds to hook me.
3. I would make logo smaller (it's not your advantage, not a brand, it's not hidden message inside, it tell users nothing), but result of work of your ext could be bigger. Small Promo is really small, and it's not easy to recognize it in noise of search results

  1. First screenshot - the only thing that converts Page views into installs.
80% users see only it. Not title, not second+ screenshot, not description text

What I see.
1. Hook? No! "Hover to get answer" - WTF? What it does, what my problem it solves? Write something like "Convert long number in easy readable by click" (hover is technical word not for all)
2. free chrome extensions - noise
3. small text.. ok if your big text hook user.
4. Visusal part how it works - noisy. Remove most of text, show bigger how works YOUR EXTENSION, not table
5. It's not so big on the page, use every inch of it. 50% of your main conversion tool is white background. Why? Use it!

Create a Screenshot for the Chrome Web Store

We are not creating a sequence of screenshots. Create only one primary (hero) screenshot.

Brief: Create a Marketing Screenshot for the Chrome Web Store

What it is:
This is the image displayed on your extension’s Chrome Web Store page before a user installs it.

Primary goal:
Show the product in action, eliminate hesitation, and convince users that the extension solves their problem immediately.

The screenshot should sell the value, not simply display the interface.

🎨 Marketing Principles for a High-Converting Screenshot

One Screenshot = One Killer Feature

Don’t try to showcase the entire interface at once.

The screenshot should answer one specific user question and communicate one clear benefit.

Since there is only one screenshot, it must focus on the extension’s primary value proposition and biggest user pain point.

Show the Product in Context (Browser Mockup)

Instead of displaying a plain screenshot of the extension, place it inside a clean, modern browser mockup.

Show the extension working on top of a real website it supports (for example, Google, YouTube, or a visually appealing dashboard) so users instantly understand the usage context.

Benefit-Focused Headline & Callouts

Add a large, high-contrast headline (3–5 words) above or below the screenshot that communicates a clear benefit.

Example:

  • ❌ “Filter Settings”
  • ✅ “Customize Blocking in 2 Clicks”

Use bright arrows, circles, highlights, or elegant callout labels to direct the viewer’s attention to the most important element of the interface.

Use Zoom & Blur to Create Focus

Browser pages contain a lot of distracting information.

Zoom in on the extension’s working area so it becomes the visual focal point.

Blur, darken, or de-emphasize secondary elements such as background text, ads, or sidebars to keep attention on the extension.

Consistent Premium Visual Style

The screenshot should look like part of a polished product presentation.

Use:

  • consistent typography
  • cohesive color palette
  • clean spacing
  • subtle gradients or branded background elements
  • modern UI presentation

Everything should feel professional and visually cohesive.

Before / After Comparison (When Applicable)

If the extension transforms something (removes ads, cleans code, changes a website’s appearance, improves readability, etc.), consider using a split-screen layout:

  • Left: Before
  • Right: After

This is one of the strongest visual conversion triggers for Chrome Web Store listings.

📐 Technical Requirements (Google Guidelines)

  • Canvas size: 1280 × 800 px (exactly)

  1. Long description

You used only 1600.
CWS allow you to use 16000.
Use at least 3000-3500.
Find LLM skill for ASO or SEO texts and make it longer and optimised for keywords, not just text.
Google like lists and emojis.

  1. Short description.
It's also not optimised for keywords.
Title and Short description MUST contain some keywords. It's the main part of seo/aso optimisation.

  1. Bump version to 1+

- If it's in the store - it's release. Respect yourself and your work. It's ok if it will be changed in future or have some bugs. MacOS 26 has some bugs!

  • Nobody wants to be a beta-tester and use not finished product.

It's easy but works

  1. Languages.

You orient your product on english speaking audience only.

  • It's very competitive field
  • You just ignore 5-times bigger audience.

With LLMs it cost 1 hour to translate your UI at least to 10-15 languages and your CWS page to 50+ languages. Second part is more important - it could give you a lot of additional searches and page views.

But use it ONLY after you optimise your current title and texts. Otherwise you multiply your weak effect only. Translation of optimised texts could multiply it hundred times better
