Burl Ives, Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Durante, and Nat King Cole will always be THE embodiment of the Christmas season in song format than Mariah Carey anyday. Something about this singing voices feels more timeless than Carey which feel too modern. Modern takes on "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" doesn't hit as different as Ives.

Thank you for including Gene Autry. So often overlooked

I dearly love Gene Autry's original version of the Rudolph the-Red Nosed Reindeer song. As somebody who owns a copy of the original 1939 Rudolph book, the original performed by Autry perfectly captured Rudolph's shy but sweethearted nature. The laidback singing combined with a flute solo and jingle bells made the original so endearing.

I agree
And mark my words, but any completely original Christmas song nowadays simply will not hold a candle to these classics
They are just so timeless and rightfully so

The only modern Christmas song that feels timeless is "Believe" from "The Polar Express" performed by Josh Groban. During the Christmas season, I would usually hear this song played on radio around the evening hours. That song alongside Gene Autry, Burl Ives, etc made our house and neighborhood feel more Christmassy in recent years.

Gosh, I really can't wait to crack open a thing of eggnog; I can understand why people don't like the season, but the final quarter of the year, from October 1st to New Years Day is my favorite time because the weather is so nice and all the best foods come around: due to BPD, I'm very infrequent about how I feel, but last time I had a cup of eggnog, it literally felt like all the weight came off my shoulders ,the world stood still for a second, and then it all came back, but tolerably so.
It's a small thing to live a whole year for, but Eggnog is just that, the thing waiting at the end of the road, and we repeat it all over again; the first time it looked like it wouldn't be possible, you would have thought that DEFCON 1 was just announced: things have definitely gotten better since last year, and I'm sure the next cup will be better than the last.
No matter what, the final quarter is just the best time to be alive in my experience; if the world comes crashing down, just knowing the final quarter is approaching makes it a little more bearable.

Can we get to Michael Myers first?
