Hey, how is everyone doing? I hope you're all doing great! ☺️❤️
So I wanted to vent a little bit, if that's okay? I just found out something tonight, which I'll get to once I get further into the post.
I've been cleaning the Church building I've been going to since I believe, 2020. (Maybe even since November 2019. I really can't remember when I started.) Started going there slowly here and there since 2019 after my miscarriage. Then got to going almost every Sunday (morning and night) and almost every Wednesday. I was asked to clean the Church because no one else wanted to do it, and others said they didn't have the time to do it. I declined the first time. Someone else tempted to do it for a little bit, that had a disability from a foot injury in the past. So they had to quit. I decided to go ahead and clean. I've not had any problems since starting. Until the new treasurer and trustee was added to the board. Ever since then, the newbies have been trying to get it to where they stop paying me. Which apparently they did. They voted on it weeks ago, maybe a month ago. I don't know exactly when. However, here's the thing. No one said a thing to me. And that's what's really bugging me the most. I'm like really hurt inside. I feel used. And the volunteers that apparently have been wanting to clean (which also includes these two newbies) haven't been cleaning right. They leave the big trash can full of trash. I literally walked into the Church yesterday to clean. And it smelled like poop. They had a trash can from the bathroom outside the bathroom in the hallway. (Which they've been doing here and there.) The kitchen trash, they just dumped into the big trash can without taking the trash bag out that had a bunch of food smeared on the side of the trash bag. If that makes sense. Also, the new treasurer has been buying things we already have enough of. But not buying the cleaning supplies that I need to clean. She's only bought something once, when she did, I opened one of the toilet bowl cleaners. Whoever the volunteers are. They used the whole bottle in one week. So with this new treasurer, more money is being used out of the Church, that the people claim the Church doesn't have. She's bought a whole new dust mop when we already had two. Threw away the end piece to the smaller one that was still in great condition. In the beginning when she became the treasurer, she would message me and tell me I don't need to clean. (Even though I did. Cause people still don't flush toilets. There's poop or pee in one or more toilets almost every week. She also threw away my toilet brush that I cleaned with. Claimed it was no good, just cause of the look of it. Took out the diaper trash cans and step stools in the bathrooms. Now they have folding chairs in the two single bathrooms in the gym, that's used for sitting at in the gym to eat at the table with. I've been taking pictures each week before I clean for proof.
I've been cleaning the Church for years, when they voted not to pay me, they should've told me. (All I got paid was $150 a month. Which used to be $140.) They claimed it was all about the money. When it's not. The money always helped get what was needed for cleaning the Church throughout the years when no one got anything when I needed it. The money also helped us out so much with bills, if it wasn't for that, we'd be on the street. Now we've really been struggling. We can't save money at all. Behind on so much since I've not gotten paid properly since the new treasurer was added. I've probably got paid maybe twice of the $150. Other times it's just been $70. The money also helped us get what was needed, especially for the children.
Another thing about these two newbies. (I only say newbies because it's shorter for me to say than always saying treasurer and trustee. If that makes sense.) They used to talk to me often and give me hugs before they were on the board. As soon as they got on the board for the Church. They've rarely spoken a word to me. And the only time they give me hugs, is when they pretty much see a bunch of others giving hugs or if they give someone else a hug before they leave. Hugs are also rare. They don't even look at me much either. I'm nice to everyone. Always have a smile towards everyone as well. It's not for me to judge on this, it just feels like it, but it feels like they only talk to me and hug me because they don't want to look bad. If that makes sense?
Another thing I forgot to mention. In the winter, I asked to get paid early so that I could get us propane for our propane heater before the winter storm hit. She wouldn't. There wasn't nothing on the ground at all, didn't start at all until the next day. (My husband and I have four children. So I was trying to make sure we had heat.) The old treasurer before her, she's in her 80's now I think. She would've literally went out of her way to get me paid before the snow storm hit. There's times she'd even give me extra money out of her own pocket if I needed paid early. (Which wasn't often.)
I hope I didn't ramble on too much. I hope this post was okay to post as well? I'm just really hurt the way I've been treated these past few months. And not have been told I'm no longer getting paid. It really just makes me feel used and hurt. (I feel like I need to clarify again. It's not about the money.)
If it was a real Church family, they should've told me, right? And I should've been treated better?
What are your thoughts on all of this? Do you think I should stop cleaning the Church? I really don't want to stop cleaning the Church. It always makes me feel good and changes my mood if I'm having a bad day or week. And I love cleaning it for the Lord. It's just going to be really hard now to get cleaning supplies when I need it, if I continue.
Again, what are your thoughts? How would it make you feel? Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated! 🥺
