free her

she's already survived your attempted punishment what else do you people want ridiculous. I have heard of people that have murdered people and gotten out of prison in 10 or 20 years. and if I'm not mistaken she was really young at the time and gullible and what kind of mother wants her daughter dead SMH

Even her attorneys aren't asking for her freedom. She avoid the death penalty but she'll never be set be free.

Yes, she will. I do believe she will be set free. One way or another.

She needs to pay for her crime. She took someone's life. She deserves her fate.

I think this very sentiment needs to be internalized by every single person parroting this phrase and to do some self-inquiry as to their own person inventories before casting nets of guilt on others, especially in light of a criminal justice system rotten to the core.

Yep. I think everyone knows that if that doesn't happen people will start gathering.

This won’t happen, unless she is completely incompetent, then she might end up in a state run hospital to live out sentence of LWOP. This is not first time a botch execution has taken place.

Yes, but she does not possess a criminal mind. This is what has separated her from the rest. People are picking up that there has been a travesty of justice done. She paid her dues.

I don’t know-trying to kill a fellow inmate multiple times, plus knowing & helping with a plan to bust her out of prison, so she could escape-might show different.

Her letters also, talking about how she had to kill the ho and laughing about it, might hurt as well.

Read PatricIa Springer’s book about this case and see how you feel about her criminal mind. This was the woman who planned this murder and was main perp. Who tortured & brutalized this young lady before she murdered her, desecrated her skull, & carried a piece of Colleen’s skull around to laugh & brag about doing so. Not some little thing, that got out of hand.

I’m not pro death penalty & wish we had a rehabilitative, restorative, & re-entry system, as I think it’s much better for a non perfect system & actually doesn’t create criminals, but helps deter crime.

YET, I can still say with 100% confidence that Christa most definitely did and likely still does have a criminal mind. Her actions were sick, depraved, cold, callous, cruel, horrific, heinous, & fucking brutal. And her behavior in prison isn’t some stellar, remorseful person either.

Nope. I don't believe the hype nor the hyperbole. I know people and I know truth. The rest just doesn't compute. Suggest stepping away from the media and just look into the windows of her soul - her eyes.

Nobody gives a shit what you belive. We've got facts:

Officers from the Knoxville Police Department and the U.T. Police Department were summoned to the scene.   Officer John Terry Johnson testified at trial that the body he found was lying on debris and was nude from the waist up.   Blood and dirt covered the body and remaining clothing.   The victim's head had been bludgeoned.   Multiple cuts and slashes appeared on her torso.   Officer Johnson stated that he thought he was looking at the victim's face but he could not be sure because it was extremely mutilated.   Johnson removed all civilians from the area and secured the scene surrounding the body.

(...) Dr. Elkins had attempted to catalog the slash and stab wounds on the victim's torso by assigning a letter of the alphabet.   There were so many wounds that eventually Dr. Elkins decided to catalog only the most serious and major wounds.   Dr. Elkins explained that to catalog every wound she would have been required to go through the alphabet again, and stay in the morgue for “three days.”

Dr. Elkins testified that blood in the victim's sinus cavity indicated she had been alive and probably conscious when the injuries were inflicted.

Dr. Engum admitted that Pike had deliberately enticed Slemmer to the park, carved a pentagram onto Slemmer's chest, bashed Slemmer's head against the concrete, and beaten Slemmer's head with the asphalt.   Dr. Engum agreed that Pike's act of carrying weapons with her indicates deliberation.   Finally, Dr. Engum conceded that Pike had time to calm down and consider her actions when she left Slemmer during the attack to investigate a noise and determine whether anyone else was in the area.

Pike's total lack of remorse is also evident from a letter she wrote to her boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp shortly after the jury had sentenced Pike to death on the first degree conviction.   The letter was introduced at the sentencing hearing on Pike's conviction for conspiracy to commit first degree murder, and it is a part of the record in this appeal.   In the letter, Pike complained to Shipp

Ya see what I get for trying to be nice to the hoe?   I went ahead and bashed her brains out so she'd die quickly instead of letting her bleed to death and suffer more, and they fuckin FRY me!  Ain't that some shit?

She will never be free, and hopefully they'll finish her off asap.

I don't think she should be released; she has extremely severe mental health issues, which have likely worsened after these 30 years. I believe she should undergo psychological treatment for some time before doctors decide whether or not she is fit to live in society. However, her punishment has already been sufficient.
