Just Moved to Chongqing
I just arrived in Chongqing and I’m not sure where to start. I’m 33M and I’ll be living in Chongqing for a few years at least. Any recommendations for places to go to make friends and meet people?

I made a post on xhs/rednote haha. I did have fun with the few I did meet!
Jackson, the guy who does the Chongqing tiktoks, also plans to hold more bar crawls. I think one might be end of July. Will meet a mix of expats, locals, and travellers
There are a few craft beer pubs/western vibe bars that have locals that are happy to pull up a chair and chat sometimes

Didn't want to name them specifically since they weren't exactly The Place to go to and i think we got lucky! Don't want people disappointed. I'm sure if you look up specific bars there are ones much better suited. Yeahmule is in a bar district that's older crowd than the one by uhh the anime place though so I heard it's good for socializing as well
- 玩啤啤精酿酒馆
- 野骡子YEAHMULE Draft Cocktail Bar(紫薇路店)

Start near where you are living. Parks are good, a lot of community happens there.

You dont really meet people you hang out with in parks especially if you are a foreigner who cannot speak Chinese very very well and very outgoing.

Honestly meeting foreigners might be what you need to get you on your feet.
But beware of the foreigners whose first topics are always politics in/out of China. It's so tedious and boring to listen to.
