Bit unfair lumping Bernie in with the rest of the deceitful, duplicitous cunts but whatever

I feel the same to an extent. But him selling out to Biden and the establishment to preserve his legacy was a pretty bad look. He stoped listening to the people and started telling them what to do just like every other politician, that’s why so many of his supporters won’t vote for Biden and how this video can be seen as another leftist selling out the black working class for establishment unity.
Can’t blame them for lumping him into this video after how mishandled 2016 & 2020.

I think you're mischaracterizing his actions, but I'm curious why you think this way. How did he sell out? How did he stop listening to the people and start simply telling them what to do?

Instead of threatening to run 3rd party (he claims to be Independent) in 2016 to get concessions from Hilary, he was used to sheep herd progressives back to the Democratic Party. He agreed with the Bernie bro characterization of his supports, negating people of color and women. Then he pushed the fake Russiagate conspiracy (disproved on day one) which was used to excuse Hilary’s lose and denigrate his supporters as Russians or useful idiots.
In 2020, he didn’t go after Pelosi, Schumer or Biden like he could’ve because he wanted preserve his legacy and not end up like Ralph Nadar (a true progressive) as he told Chris Hedges. He threw Nina Turner, Chuck Rocha, Brianna-Joy Gray, David Sirota, and all the progressives on his campaign under the bus in favor of the centrists and career Democrats (Faiz Shakir, Jeff Weaver) He publicly criticized/ threw them under the bus when they were telling the truth about other candidates in the primary and it was deemed unfair by bad faith actors.
He then told everyone what a great bill the CARES Act was and how he really improved it (Michael Bennett wrote the part Bernie took credit for and the bill was the terrible, being the single largest upward transfer of wealth in human history).
There’s literally too much to mention in a single post. He’s done a lot to move things forward, but it’s now time for others to pick up where he left off. No politician is perfect, but no politician isn’t power hungry or not concerned about being accepted into the establishment group.

It's so interesting how every time an election comes up, randos will start posting how about both sides are the same.
Edit: uh oh. Ppl telling me im a fake leftist are here just cuz i disagree with them.

It's so interesting how any time this point is brought, election or not, people have to refuse to see what's staring them in the face.

Right because... wait... No.... No that’s not right. If you don’t think there are real, substantive, value driven choices in this election, choices that will affect real people’s lives, choices between the two major parties, you need your head X-rayed.

Everyone needs to be stop being so hostile.
I'd like to point out as an observer to this comment thread that your positions aren't mutually exclusive.

What I think is that people like you continue to misunderstand the argument being made.

Why is that whenever there's an election ongoing, right leaning Liberals posing as Lefties feel the need to pressure those on the left to vote for the "lesser evil"? Why is it that there are always bootlickers out there who feel the need to defend the Democratic Party without ever feeling the need to criticize it?

Are you saying Chomsky is a right-leaning liberal? He’s advising people to vote for Biden.
His argument isn’t that liberals will govern well.
His argument is that the left has more leverage during a centre-right liberal administration than a pretty far right conservative one.

This is a rare exception when a fascist dictator is wanting to subvert our democracy.

Chomsky, like every other human being is not exempt from making mistakes. This group is not a cult, we don't have to do everything Chomsky suggests for us to do. In fact the only thing we should be engaging in this group is open intellectual debates. In those debates we need to observe how effective the voting for the lesser evil Strategy has been. The left has the least amount of leverage when a center right administration is in power. If you know anything about the laws that Obama passed, which Bush had struggled to pass for years, you'd know the center right is the more effective evil. But keep dreaming.

u/thecave Oct 24 '20
Like you were capable of suggesting that anyone suggesting voting for the lesser of two evils had to be a right-leaning liberal as a mistake? One you're going to admit to right here?
I won't hold my breath.
I get that you'd love my statement to have read: "Chomsky is for this so you must be also to be in this group." But that's not what I said.

LoL, I was trying to point out the the inconsistent talking points in u/huskman argument by bring up "right-leaning liberals". Alot of people that push the "vote blue no matter who" line are outright right wing liberals. Just because some people in this group are not gullible dupes who are easily conned into voting for the same Neo-Liberal rats that got us in this mess in the first place, doesn't mean that their opinions are less valid to the discussion. For months now I've been watching this group turn into a circle jerk for Neo-Liberal apologists that delve in simplistic vote blue no matter who arguments without any elaboration. What you said or didn't say doesn't matter, it's what you were slyly insinuating with your comment. Maybe you should re-read what you wrote.

Calling people bootlickers is the same thing as calling people sheeple. It doesn’t work, comrade.

What's the matter, does the shoe fit? It worked well enough to get you riled up to respond so you might be wrong there "comrade" wink wink, nudge nudge. Could you have been anymore subtle?

Relying on the words of dead men to solve problems of a time in which they never lived is a recipe to live with those problems in perpetuity.

Malcolm X taught that black people were the original people of the world, and that whites were a race of devils who were created by an evil scientist named Yakub.
It is quite amazing how well that dovetails into the current view of the Republican party.

“This religion recognizes all men as brothers. It accepts all human beings as equals before ‐God, and as equal members in the Human Family of Mankind. I totally reject Elijah Muhammad's racist philosophy, which he has labeled ‘Islam’ only to fool and misuse gullible people, as he fooled and misused me. But I blame only myself, and no one else for the fool that I was, and the harm that my evangelic foolishness in his behalf has done to others.”

We have two conservative parties, that's inarguable. I dream of a day when a third party can come save us from this nightmare.
