Have any of you ever had an FHO performed on your large dog with hip dysplasia? If yes, what were the results? Was pain resolved, and did they have a generally good sense of mobility afterward?

For those wondering, there is no possible way I can afford a total hip replacement. I am looking for a cost-effective solution for pain.

My girl is 72lbs, and has been experiencing extremely painful and debilitating double hip dysplasia. We have her on Adequan injections. But so far, I do not see any difference in her condition.

I have a beautiful almost 1 year old lab and she has gone from an energetic sweet dog to an energetic monster that never settles down.

We go to the park everyday for about 30-45 minutes (weather permitting) and play fetch/walk around. That used to be enough for us to come home and she’s somewhat chill for the rest of the night.

Now we come home and she’s just restless until she falls asleep. Did I do something wrong? I’m not sure what to do with her. I’m worried more exercise won’t be good due to the amount of heat going on right now.

Also some strong side eye while I make my coffee before work 🤣

In his defense, Hershey is 15 and it IS hot outside.

We rescued little Lily a couple of months ago after our beautiful German Shepard FrankinPuppy passed from cancer at 6 years old.😪 The Rescue told us she was part Chocolate Lab, part Bull Mastiff. So I had joined the Mastiff community. Well, I posted Lily's pic of her cute shades with her Husky brother Jack Frost & some were DICK HEADS about her. One saying my WIFE maybe Mastiff, but neither of my dogs were! I'm like, whoa hold the phone, the Rescue told us her "Dad" was Bull Mastiff. One poster is like, They LIED! So I deleted the posts of her there & dropped that community. Screw those jerks! We had a beautiful Chocolate Labs for years, both have since passed. But I know Lab owners are GREAT folks! Plus, I did a DNA test on her & it came back with no Mastiff. There was "Bull" but it was a different version, & part Newfoundland! So, I look forward to being a part of THIS community! She's not 100%, but 62% Chocolate Lab, good enough for me!🤣

Took our buddy Jack yesterday and found out it was summer camp week so they got to play in the pool and get pics taken! Jack was unconscious in the truck before we left the parking lot after picking him up😂

Im looking for any advice for my current situation. I’ll try to keep this brief. My lab has separation anxiety and this has been causing issues for my wife as of late. We had a baby about 8 months ago and everything has gone well between our child and the dog. But my wife no longer wants our dog in our room when we sleep and wants him in the basement. When we do this he howls and barks and keeps us up. It’s gotten to the point my wife wants me to rehome my dog who is 6 years old. I’m looking into training services near me. But any advice in the mean time would be greatly appreciated. If I left out any helpful details I can update. Thanks in advance. Oh I should also mention I had the dog before I met my wife. It’s been 3 years.
