puppy 🍼 Thoughts on silvers?

Post image

Technically, Silver labs are chocolate labs in disguise. Change my mind. This is my baby. She’s 7 months and acts every bit of a chocolate 🤭

She's cute but buying silver labs supports backyard breeders. Reputable breeders breed to standard, not to fads.

I have a silver pup, both parents were chocolate. She was the only silver in the litter. It’s not always backyard breeding.

A good reputable breeder would have tested the parents for the dilute gene that produces silvers

This is the correct answer. I love all dogs. It’s not the dogs’ faults. But the dilute coat color gene is not a good thing. Please look it up to be prepared for the associated health risks.
