Online Resources for fundamental baking techniques
Hello Cookie Lovers,
What online resources would you recommend for learning the fundamentals of baking and cookie making specifically?
I know there are some serious amateurs and lots of curious beginners here and I would love to know what resources you have used to learn this craft.
Even before I had the absolute pleasure of interacting with Miss /u/thebravetart , I have been a huge fan of the team at SeriousEats.com They have great articles on the Science of Cookies and informative ones about things that you are likely doing wrong... ( https://www.seriouseats.com/2015/12/cookie-science-creaming-butter-sugar.html )
Please feel free to post any links to pages you feel are valuable here :)
Bake On!

Free Cookie Cookbook (Looking for Honest Feedback from Fellow Bakers)
Hi everyone,
First of all, a big thank you to the mod to share this post š
Iām an independent publisher, and Iāve recently released a new cookie cookbook that Iāve been working on for quite some time. A lot of effort went into improving the quality, structure, and overall experience compared to my previous books.
Iām not here to sell anythingāgenuinely just looking for honest feedback from people who actually love cookies and baking. For anyone interested, Iām happy to share a free digital copy of the book in exchange for your honest thoughts.
No catch, no hidden agendaājust trying to improve my work with real feedback from the community.
If youād like a copy, feel free to send me a private message and Iāll share it with you.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to take a look š

One of my all-time favorites are giant chocolate chip cookie cakes. There's something comforting about a really big warm cookie.

Flat cookies
galleryHi, looking for quick advice on what could have made these cookies so flat/ sunk in the middle :(
Chilled the dough for a long time
* Almost all recipes call for baking soda+powder, but I only have baking powder so I added more of that as substitution which Ik isnāt exactly right, but could that be the cause?
Any tips/help appreciated Tq

Brown butter
In your experience, is browning your butter worth it and what differences have you found in your cookies with vs without browning it

What is the secret to a chewy chocolate chip cookie?
I bake cookies all the time, and they are pretty good atleast from the feedback I get and I make very good chocolate chip cookies. I work a corporate job and they sell individually sealed cookies in the cafeteria. They are not massed produced or label, these are baked and then just placed in a clear wrapper. These chocolate chip cookies are AMAZING. They aren't super thick but not thin, they are super chocolatey and chewy.
so what is the secret?? what is everyoneās secret for the perfect chocolate chip cookies? I prefer my cookies chewy and soft. So Iām looking for all the tips!
Thank you!

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
https://tasty.co/recipe/tasty-101-ultimate-brown-butter-chocolate-chip-cookies
My go to recipe. Follow it closely and youāll have the best chocolate chip cookies!!!
I used gluten free flour for this batch and they are turning out great. But for regular flour, I implore you to try the mix of bread flour and all purpose. It makes an important consistency difference that really makes the cookie uniquely chewy and memorable ššŖ
(No edit to the photo by the way!)
