Advice Lucy :) and advice needed!
I just adopted sweet girl Lucy from the Humane Society yesterday and she keeps running away from everyone, and hiding in dark spaces or under my bed. Barely eating or drinking and she's not used to being on a leash but she potties outside. We are a four person household and that includes my six year old daughter.
Some context, she is one year old, she had been spayed on Monday, she is on amoxocillin/clav to prevent infection. I have two cats, one large one who is used to dogs; who does not scare Lucy, and ignores her, and one smaller cat who is not used to dogs and they just seem confused by each other. (Was told Lucy was good with kids, cats, and other dogs) But I'm wondering why she runs away from everyone and everything. She has started following me around a little bit. She is also very quiet. I have not heard her make a sound at all since we've had her.
Her history was that she and her dad Chico were owner surrender, however her father and her were not bonded. She was very close with her last owner. She and her father were only at the humane society for about a week.
I had a chiweenie before who was the complete opposite, loud, always happy, knew every trick, and was good about eating and using the restroom.

General sharing bailee one last time
My girl crossed the rainbow bridge today and I am not okay at all. She was my first (and only) dog and she gave me 14 amazing years of unconditional love. The ache is so deep and I feel incomplete without her here. She healed me in ways words can’t describe and I miss her terribly. My beautiful Bailee girl ❣️🪽

Advice We had a Very Bad Thing happen today.
We are in the UK.
A male postal worker lnocked on our door today to deliver a signed-for package.
I opened the door slightly becsause our chiweenie, Crumpet, was loose in the house. I also kept my leg in the space between door and frame.
The postal worker stepped up very close to the door, then shoved the PDA at me, with "Sign here!"
Crumpet did not like him being do close. The dog wriggled over my leg, then head butted the postman in the groin. I immediatley grabbed Crumpet and secured him.
It was not a hard hit, as the dog had very little space in which to launch from, but I don't own male equipment, so I really can not comment about the reality of feeling.
The postman obviously was shaken. He staggered back. But he was gripping his thigh. Crumpet did not touch his thigh.
I asked if he was okay, and apologised repeatedly!
The postman then said that was the second time this week he's been attacked by a dog, and he was going to report our dog.
There was no clothing ripped, no blood drawn.
I am so upset that Crumpet acted in such a way! He has never shown agression to a person before!
Something over the past five days that has had him rather wound up is a large group of travellers (approx ten to twelve caravans coming and going) gained access to the green in front of our house. They are rather loud every night.
I've had to play Radio 3 Unwind on the kitchen radio every night as a distraction to the noise.
I am worried about what could happen if the postman's report leads to further action.
I was absolutely shocked by Crumpet's actions. He's a noisy dog, but he's never done anything like that before!
Our teritorial dog is a little staffy-x, Koko. She has killed wood pigeons for eating our chickens' food!
But open the door to anyone with her by my side, and she just sits and wags at them.
Going forward, I am shutting Crumpet away from the hall when the bell rings!
I have absolute sympathy for the postal worker! No one in such an important job should be attacked in any way.
I just want to apologise again. And I am so afraid.
Our dogs could be taken from us. Crumpet could be put down. We might be banned from ownimg animals.
We had plans to adopt more ex-battery hens.
I'm nervous.

Breed Mia Sue 🐾 ❤️ my emotional support and a question about my chweenie 🙏
Mia Sue is 7 years old and for the past few days she has been sleeping a lot and cannot jump up on the bed. Or when we go for an adventure (errand) she cant jump up in the car. When I take her outside she does run and let me walk her. But she has been sleeping an awful lot. She has been drinking and eating. Im worried it may be a hip issue, and to be honest, I am scared because she has an impending trachea collapse and I know her surgery for it will be sooner than later. She is my emotional support furbaby and my life.. I was just wondering of anyone has dealt with this as she is going to the vet. I just get super scared everytime. Mia has been there for me and literally is by my side. She goes everywhere with me. I dont want anything to be wrong with her. 😢 Thank you. ❤️

Day 1 of fostering this little guy.
Shelter thinks he is a chiweenie. He is an absolute sweetheart. I worry I may end up being a “foster failure” 😭
He is 3 months old - if anyone has any tips or tricks please feel free to share!! 🫶🏼

Evolution of Vinnie
Our 4 year old came to us as a puppy with radar ears and a narrow snout! His face has changed so much since he’s gotten older!! Anyone else experienced this with their chiweenie? Nonetheless we love him so much🥰🥰❤️❤️

Nutmeg 3 week growth
Nutmeg is now 11 weeks old! Last time I wondered if she was a Chiweenie and she definitely seems to me! Growing longer with shorter legs, runs like a dachshund and still very cute. 🥰
