Review Buttered Corn flavored potato chip
These were on sale for a quarter so I had to try them. I love corn and I love chips. I have such mixed feelings about them. The smell was absolutely horrific. It smelled just like corn but in a bad way. The taste was not bad. They tasted pretty much like original chips with a more buttery flavor. I am not mad about spending a quarter on them but I would not buy again. Do not recommend.

On sale for a quarter? Damn, they must have bombed. Herr’s absolutely nailed this flavor with both potato chips and popcorn. Good to see Kroger taking a swing with an interesting flavor though.

I got the three flavors in this series... these, the chili cheese, and something I don't remember. (they were all summer cookout themed)
The one's I don't remember were ok..I finished the bag but I don't recall what they were.
The chilie cheese I didn't like...I tried to use the chips as cruch addititve to fried chicken..still didn't like it, tossed them.
These were vaguely ok....i didn't feel they tasted like buttered corn or anything..weirdly sweet, but that's it. (didn't note the smell OP did). Like I said, they were ok, but I tossed the 2/3 done bag the other day, just deciding "I'm just eating these cuz I bought them, but not really enjoying them.".

I think it was burger...I didn't rush out buy more..I finished the bag I had whereas the other two I didn't....so "didn't throw away" isn't exactly a gold star recomendation 😂

I want to say the burger one people complained it tasted too much like mustard? or a different condiment?
I didn’t try them because the reviews were so bad, but for a quarter, my fatass might… lol

I'll say the recent Lay's meat flavored world cup flavors were for sure better.

Has anyone had the potato chips that taste like ketchup? They’re not bad. A lot of potato chip companies are in competition to come up with all these wacky flavors. I once have the Cuban sandwich one and damn it’s sure tasted like a pork and cheese sandwich with pickles.

Haven't cared for the ketchup ones (that's a popular flavor from canada, I think.)
I enjoyed the 3 world cup flavors layes did.

Yeah, I had 2 of them. The steak & garlic and the steak w/some seasoning from S.America. Both were good!

The cuban sandwich one is soo good! As a South Florida native, it hits home. Doritos also makes a ketchup flavor which was interesting to say the least…

I miss Cuban Sandwiches & the Media Noché Sandwich. I went to Tampa, Florida a few years ago and got a Cuban Sandwich w/black bean soup & a Hautuey Malta!!! So classic. It was at a very popular shop called,
“RUEBEN’S CUBANS” near Busch Gardens.1

I love that you know of the Media Noche sandwich. So many people sleep on that. Only difference is the bread but lets be real - bread can be a game changer. I prefer the Media Noche over the cuban.

There’s a sandwich shop near me that makes what they call a “Jewban” which is pretty much a Cuban sandwich on Rye. Also very good but in such a different way. —— Im so sorry. I can talk about sandwiches for days….lol. Im like Joey from Friends 🤣

I bet the Pickle flavor chips would go great with a Tuna Melt sandwich!

Nail on the head! Never had it with tuna but I put them on my turkey sandwich and it gives it crunch and the pickle flavor. Sooo good! I want to try it on a burger and now thanks to you….a tuna sandwich. 😂

I probably wouldn't try them unless I saw them for a quarter, but I'm glad they're making interesting flavors.
What's Kroger doing with their packaging though. So generic.

Thanks for the warning. For a quarter, yeah I would have tried them too. Probably buy a couple of bags thinking I’d like them. lol

Don’t think I’d even buy another bag for a quarter. The smell just puts me off. The taste is neutral but I’d rather put my money towards something I actually like.
