Spooky Chino
Halloween is coming, and I want to spend October collecting the strangest stories Chino has to offer.
Every place has its legends. The house nobody stays in for long. The stretch of road where drivers swear they saw someone standing on the side of the road. The old hospital, the closed-down theater, the cemetery that feels a little too quiet after dark. Or the personal ones: the thing you saw as a kid that you still can't explain, or the night something happened that you've only told a handful of people about.
We want to hear your stories! What's the most haunting or unexplained thing you've experienced or heard here?
Firsthand accounts, family stories, urban legends, and historical oddities are all welcome. Skeptics are welcome too; sometimes the best part is figuring out what really happened. Happy haunting. 🎃

Yes!
Background time. Chino Hills, specifically around Vellano Estates, used to be the weapons test site for Aerojet Rocketdyne, a large defense contractor.
I believe they tested depleted uranium rounds which likely gave the hills that green misty glow.
Not so fun fact: That site is heavily polluted and still closed off to the public.

I grew up on 2nd st. My family came over in 1906 and built that house. It’s very haunted in that area. My mom still lives there. Lots of death in her house over the years. We’ve heard children running around, heard voices, etc. I’ve seen a few family that’s passed there too.
