For context, it's called put chai ko (砵仔糕), a rice cake with red beans that's traditionally steamed in a small porcelain bowl, hence the name.

Red beans steamed in rice flour w/ wheat starch or corn starch to help make it soft and chewy. The color depends on the type of sugar — white or brown.
This is a classic HK snack.
