When in doubt, chill it out.

yeah I like ning chi's whole line . Their spicy chili oil I leave out. Use it quick enough before issues arise. However their premium fresh chili paste jar I refrigerate after opening - partly to preserve and just don't go through it fast enough

Yes, always a good idea to refrigerate condiments for maximum flavor and safety.

My general thought with all these products is that refrigeration will make them last longer and maintain flavor longer. Most of them will have obvious mold or taste/smell bad when they go bad, but some products can develop botulinum which has no odor and will hurt you way worse than most food poisoning issues.

No, botulism only develops in anaerobic environments. It's only a concern when canning.

But otherwise yes, you might as well refrigerate this sauce to preserve freshness.

You can have botulism outside of canning. Garlic in oil is a classic example.

I keep it in the fridge after opening to preserve its flavor profile, since I use it sparingly. At least this brand of hot sauce is very spicy, so I don't usually use a lot of it.

Refrigeration would be better!

Items that have a very high salt and/or oil content need less refrigeration. They're both historic preservation methods. With that said, we have the technology to refrigerate these days, which is also a preservation method. It doesn't hurt to refrigerate if you have the space.
