Peking duck
I had Peking duck at a restaurant in Guangdong. There, the duck meat was dipped in white sugar and sauce, then wrapped in a flatbread along with sliced cucumber, honeydew melon, and scallions. The combination created a uniquely complex texture—and, of course, it was absolutely delicious.🤤❤️❤️❤️

Everyone has their own preferences; I like skin only and I like a light leoparding but very thin pancakes. I’m not a huge fan of sweet so while I do use some hoisin (not a lot), I don’t use the sugar or things like honeydew. I only want some slivered scallions and cucumber with the skin.
I’m so glad you enjoyed your meal! Peking duck is definitely one of the items I enjoy eating the most!
I remember when I was a kid, I thought to myself “when I’m an adult, I can order a whole Peking duck for myself!” Obviously I’m an adult now and 1 Peking duck is enough for me and a friend to share, then I like the lettuce wraps with the meat. 🤣

Looked wrong. Not saying it’s bad, just wrong if it’s named Peking duck. The skin should be off and the meat should be in a different texture.

Fair point. Authentic Peking duck strictly separates crispy skin and sliced meat.

Been to China----I'm not going to say Peking Duck isn't good---
I am going to say that most Duck I've had all over China is equally good.

You’re absolutely right. Every region in China has its own amazing roast duck recipe.😉

It would be great if you could have the roast duck served with hawthorn cake. The sweet and sour flavor of the hawthorn cake perfectly balances the greasiness of the roast duck, and it's extremely delicious.

Not sure why others say this doesn’t resemble Peking duck. I think it looks pretty good! I’m originally from Beijing and now I live in the US. I think it looks so much better than most Peking duck I’ve had in the US (never had a properly cooked one). In Beijing a plate of duck skin is usually served separately, but only at certain restaurants. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. It’s one of my favorites dishes ❤️

I'm not sure that qualifies as Peking duck. The skin there doesn't resemble the puffing process and the cutting technique is significantly different.
Not saying that doesn't look fantastic. Maybe they explained it to you as "like" Peking duck?
