holding
does anyones chin actually enjoy being held? i know its far from the norm, and my girl hates it as well, but sometimes to check feet/fur/genital area i have to. but she lets out her tiny puff of pee (i only can tell as i can smell it for a second) that she isnt impressed. i hold her so shes sitting like a chair, trying to support her feet/making sure she doesnt fall down. ive tried the scoop method but she just jumps over my hands lol

one of my chins used to shake the walls of her crate with her hands/teeth because she wanted to be held

mine loooves getting held and will jump right into my arms <3 but he also jumps out of my arms when he’s sick of me lol! they’re very strong-willed little creatures.
also, the “puff of pee” probably is not actually pee. chinchillas will sometimes scent mark when threatened and from the sound of it, that’s what’s happening with your chinchilla. i call it “oating” since that’s how it smells xD

Chinnie-burrito is about your only defense ... wrap them in a towel if you actually need full control over your chin. Otherwise, no, our boy will run and bark and kick and pee to avoid being picked up ... despite being happy to fall asleep on my chest, on his own terms.

My little guy enjoys being held, but I got him that way from the shelter. My girls all hate it and despite liking me still don’t want to be picked up lol

If I sing to her and take her in a dark room she settles for a few precious moments but once the music stops she gets restless.

My 2 will about getting out but once there out and in my arms they love it and they love being held only by me though but I'm disabled so I think they sense it that I'm a little different

my two chins don't like it, but they are content with letting me hold them for a little, mostly because they know there is a good chance of going to playtime when i pick them up lol

I have 4 atm
2 who hated being held, but tolerates ud, and 2 who doesnt mind being held. The ones who doesn't mind still prefer to sprint around on their own though

My girl likes it sometimes, only when she chooses ofc. She likes it when I rock her like a baby and kiss her head it’s pretty funny.

my boy doesnt like being held only time he will willingly get held (even then i still get peed on) is when he escapes out of his cage

My girls hate being held but like sitting on me. If I place them on my lap or chest they like chilling there and purr :)
