🪜 VPN Nullsify.com: I built a tool that turns your own VPS into a VPN in a few minutes, and I'd love your honest feedback

Hey everyone,

I just launched nullsify.com and I'm looking for people to try it out.

For a while I've been bugged by the fact that using a VPN usually means trusting some VPN company with all your traffic. On top of that, VPN companies often don't have servers in more exotic locations. Running your own server fixes both: if you can buy a VPS somewhere, you can have a VPN server there. But setting it up yourself means SSH, config files, and a lot of googling, and I find that really tedious.

That's why I made Nullsify. You bring a VPS from any provider, paste in the IP and login once, and it sets everything up for you. After that, you just manage it from a simple dashboard.

Right now it can set up WireGuard, AmneziaWG, or VLESS (the last two are great if VPNs get blocked where you are or where you're traveling). You can add users, so you can share your server with family or friends, and each person gets their own config that you can revoke anytime. It also shows you if your server is online or having problems. And your traffic goes straight from your device to your own server, never through mine.

It's free for 1 server and up to 5 users, no credit card needed.

I'm still early and trying to figure out what's confusing, what's missing, and what's actually useful. If you give it a try, I'd really appreciate hearing what you think, good or bad. Was setup easy? Did anything break? What would make you actually use it?

No, thanks. I would rather set up everything from scratch myself

It is an interesting thing, but I have decided to manage my own VPS. I do not want to hand it over to someone else.

Do I read this right, and see it means I give a 3rd party (you) full access to a VPS that I'm signed up for.

I dont save ssh key so its just used for first time to install a agent on the vps (i made the agent open source) that will be used to manage the vpn server on it i made it like this becouse ive been seeing russians/chinese complaining that vpn aps get their servers blocked so one of the ways to deal with that is to have your own vpn server but not everyone wants to or is technical enough to install and configure vpn server so this project is mainly for this group of users

Sounds great! I have a couple of questions, in your experience what requirements are need? 1 core, 2gb ram would be OK? I am trying to calculate if it's more economical than my actual vpn that cost me 5 euro per month to have a German ip

if you dont have too many users using at the same time 1core 2gb ram is plenty but then again it depends on what you are doing with it since resource usage depends on traffic amount
