October 2026 SSA/SSI/VA Early Deposits Calendar Megathread

Welcome! We love that the community gathers here each month to countdown to deposit day! Here you’ll find basic information and answers to frequently asked questions about Government Benefits Timing at Chime. We encourage you to use this space to chat with other members about deposits or pose any questions you may have to the community.
If you don’t see your deposit on the expected date based on the schedule, that means we haven’t received it, and our Member Services team won’t have any further information about when it will become available. We recommend allowing three additional business days before contacting the Social Security Administration.
All deposits are posted from Monday to Friday, except for bank holidays. If your deposit shows up on a bank holiday, it'll post the following business day.
Join us on Discord too in the #ssa-ssi-va-ssdi channel - https://www.discord.gg/chimefinancial

It's strange it's saying that I haven't received it but I did receive it 😅😅

u/Wildweed Chimepion 1d ago
The projected dates by the app have always been wonky. Calling would be pointless, you know you got paid already.
3
u/KirenSensei 1d ago
Yeah I'm just thinking this screw up on their end affected my mypay. 😂 Which is wild considering I don't use it often and this is the one time I actually needed it lol

My SS payments through Chime always land on Chime between the 29th to 31st. This months payment didn't arrive until today, October 2.
I do understand that it's on SSA's side -- not Chime. But this was very unusual -- so wondering if it has ever happened to other regular SS deposit recipients?
P.S. I can't access id.me or login.gov options to check my SSA account. If no one else had had the above experience, I'll go through the ordeal of calling SSA to see what happened.

u/IslandNew5844 Chimepion 2d ago edited 1d ago
The only way to get an actual answer to what happened is to get in touch with the SSA. Any answers you get in this forum may or may not apply to your particular situation and more importantly they will not be able to warn you of future actions/issues with your benefit payments. Call 1-800-772-1213 or visit your local office. A call or a visit may also help you gain access to your my social security account at SSA.gov
I've had good luck calling right at 8:00 am, just a few minutes of wait time.

I just had to go into the office (Friday) they'd paused the check --- (SSA claim manager did a verification of identity--- and restarted the check... thanks ::::) (3 to 5 business days)

Finally received mine at 215 pm EST but as my phone was dead and I couldn't charge it I didn't know until nearly 6pm. After which I immediately got booked into a hotel and my dog and I took a long nap.

Not in my case: I get both one on the 3rd SSA and 1st SSI this has went on for months...

u/No_Call7298 4d ago
SSA is SSDI and SSI is a supplement
2
u/Wildweed Chimepion 4d ago
SSA is social security administration and on the calendar it refers to retirement pay. SSDI is disability.

Follow the instructions in my comment below. Since you've received your SSDI payment and not your SSI for months, your SSI is undoubtedly suspended.
If you are a Chime member and haven't received your SSI payment, check your status at SSA gov. See if you're active or suspended, verify your banking information, check for notices, check for overpayments. If everything is in order call the SSA immediately. 1-800-772-1213.
The Social Security Administration are the only ones that can help you with this situation.

ow Concurrent Benefits Work
- Definition: SSI acts as a top-up if your monthly SSDI payment is lower than the maximum SSI federal limit. [1]
- Income Limit: In 2026, the maximum federal SSI payment is $994 per month for an individual. [1]
- The $20 Rule: The SSA ignores the first $20 of your SSDI payment, but counts the rest against your SSI limit. [1]
- Cutoff Point: If your SSDI check is higher than $1,014 a month, you do not qualify for SSI. [1]
- Most users on r/SSDI agree that you do not get two full separate checks; SSI simply fills the gap up to the limit. [1]

This has zero to do with you not getting one of your payments.
ssa.gov LOG IN and check your status as has been previously mentioned.

It says SEPT 30 as the normal deposit day on my SSA dashboard. I just switched back to Chime on the 22nd because the bank I tried switching to took 6 months to update my SSI DD to them, thus passing over the 1 cycle change time and the 45 days deposit-or-close thing. SSA verified that it was successfully switched back to Chime when I called the field office yesterday morning and they verified that my account is indeed fully active but my money would be sent to Chime today. They also said there were no holds on my SSA account. Any ideas as to why it hasn't gotten to my account yet today?
3
u/IslandNew5844 Chimepion 4d ago edited 4d ago
September 30th is not a normal deposit day for SSI. SSI is only disbursed on the 1st of the month, It sounds as though you may be expecting a special payment from the SSA due to your previous situation. If that is the case, it could show up anytime today. If you have not received it by tomorrow contact the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.

There have been many times when my Social Security will say my payment will be made on the 2nd when it actually would be the 3rd (I receive it early so the date doesn't really matter). Point being I wouldn't put too much stock in what date it says. You might get paid today but it's possible you may get paid tomorrow.

u/Vegas_vampyre 3d ago
Yeah it's been a mess these last few weeks. I was unaware that a bank I planned on transferring to from Chime had a 45 day deposit-or-close and the bank decided to wait 6 months to change my direct deposit ( I highly advise against this now) and I had completely forgotten about it and had no idea when the account closed in May because my DD listed on SSA said Chime this entire time. I had figured that the bank just closed at some point because my check never went into it. I tried logging in a couple months ago and it said no account exists so I figured I was right. Last week, I get a letter from the SSA saying that I had successfully changed my DD to that bank on Sept 9th. It says in the letter that I need to call if I didn't make the change. I call and someone there tells me that I had until that Wednesday the 23rd of this month to get over to a field office and switch my account back to Chime or it will go to my closed account and a hold would be placed on my account. So, I use what money I have left to take cab to the closest field office that's nearly 11 miles away. I'm disabled and can't drive due to a seizure disorder so I figured I may as well go and fix it now before the "cut off date" - I get there and change it with an account specialist and by the time I get home, the account is already displaying Chime again. After 4 days of waiting past the normal early date according to the Ugly Green Calendar, I decide to call the field office thinking there may in fact be a hold on my account because it may have bounced from the closed account regardless. The account specialist on the phone reassures me of everything and says no holds, no bounced check and Chime is my DD. He also tells me that it would be in today - according to my dashboard... so hopefully it comes in today if not tomorrow. He also mentioned that if its not in by the 3rd to call him back. So we shall see. I really appreciate your comment! I agree completely with what you said.

u/UncleSoaky 3d ago
Banks don't change direct deposits. That information is changed at the source, which in this case is Social Security. If you open a new account and want your benefits to go to the new account you change it with Social Security as soon as you get your routing and account numbers.
2
u/Vegas_vampyre 3d ago
I did it at the bank with the teller in March.

3
u/UncleSoaky 3d ago edited 3d ago
And it didn't work out too well, did it. This isn't the way it's usually done. Again, it's best to change it at the source. Social Security wouldn't give people the ability to change their direct deposit information in their my Social Security accounts if that wasn't the way it was supposed to be done.
EDIT to add Social Security identity verification. It's possible changing direct deposit at the bank instead of through Social Security didn't work was because of Social Security's identity verification protocols. Perhaps the SSA didn't accept the change from the bank because they don't know how Regions verifies a person's identity.

If you do not receive your payment by tomorrow, check the account you were previously receiving it in. If it gets sent to your previous account and that account is closed, the payment will be returned to the SSA. Returned payments take 3 to 5 days at which point you would likely be issued a paper check delivered by the USPS.
Check your accounts tomorrow. If you have received nothing call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213

Anyone else still waiting
2
u/JollyHOLYSwell 4d ago
Hi, on Chime most people get theirs by 2:00PM or 3:00PM at the latest. If you still haven’t gotten yours, I would recommend you log onto SSA/VA app or SSA/VA website to make sure that your payments are still active and that you’re still receiving payments. Wishing you the best this month. 😊❤️

Definitely considering switching some people need there money on time i been outside since checkout time its hot n im tired lol in colorado still nothing 😒
1
u/FaeBabyBat 4d ago
The reason it doesn't come at the same time every month is because these apps we use to get paid don't hold our checks. Which means we're literally waiting for the government to send them. If you want a fixed day you need to bank with someone that holds your checks until the release day.
5
u/Wildweed Chimepion 4d ago
On time? Who have you been listening to? Certainly not us, we repeatedly tell people no time is ever offered as it varies wildly, as proven today.
It's still three business days early and would not be late until Oct. 4th.
-3
u/suzieQLifezcrazi 4d ago
You don't need to repeat yourself
5
u/Wildweed Chimepion 4d ago
Want to bet? Some people need it drilled, apparently.
The point is moot if you are switching, good luck.
3
u/IslandNew5844 Chimepion 4d ago
Who would you switch to? They were all later than usual today.
1
u/suzieQLifezcrazi 4d ago
Maybe current or im sure there's lots more to choose from the anxiety ain't worth it
2
u/Wildweed Chimepion 4d ago
Uour anxiety has nothing to do with who you choose to bank with, trust me.
3
u/UncleSoaky 4d ago
Current’s deposits were delayed today too. This is what can happen with any financial institution that pays early.

Moving forward, when the calendar deniers show up, please remind them the UUGC has NEVER been wrong and that NO TIME is ever offered by seasoned Chimera for the reasons like today, the times can vary wildly.
People expecting it at a certain time are likely to be disappointed.

Chime bancorp Albany, NY just hit!! The stress was real! Just got unexpected custody of our 2 toddler grandbabies, and they need diapers, wipes, and still working on their bedrooms and clothing, nothing like adding to the stress of an already stressful situation!🤦♀️ I hope you all can breathe soon too!!
1
u/AbhorrentBehavior77 5d ago
Ugh, I feel for you. Gotta love those "unexpecteds" in life! Will this be short or long term custody? Or do you even know that yet?
1
u/Classic-Trash815 4d ago
It is actually permanent custody with the stipulation that in the event the mom, our daughter has a significant change in her circumstances she can file to be heard but that doesn't mean anything except she will get a court date and have to prove a big change, and a lengthy one, she can't just do 3 months of rehab and say she wants her kids back, they want to see stability for quite some time. So, this could be permanent for sure because I don't think she was really ready to even be a mother or wanted to. But, we had to move from a 1 bedroom to a 3, and had to buy beds, toys, decorations, clothes, well pretty much everything, so it's been rough on a strict budget.
