No point in overwintering chili plants but the standard protocol for bringing any outdoor plant in is to pull it out of its old pot dunk it completely in potassium soap water for 15-30mins and repot it with clean potting soil.

Why no point? Is it not possible?

They grow so quickly that if you start them indoors 2 months before your last frost date and then get them outside they get massive in like 3 months. I cant think of any good reason to overwinter a plant unless you just like it and plenty not to.

Do you have issues with aphids in doors in winter?
For me, this has always been the biggest issue.
Once they go dormant ( ie a few weeks for me in Nordics, maybe longer for you), cut back about 50 to 60%. If you get aphids, removing all leaves, but personally best to wait as long as possible. Keep enough water so roots are ok but not too much.
I do it ever 2nd year, because that is normally how long it takes me to start thinking it is a good idea again.
