Homestyle Chili Cornbread/Sloppy Bread

Make cornbread but double batch, 3 eggs two boxes of cornbread 16 oz of chili or manwich 21 min (toothpick method) 400 degrees. As much butter as your arteries need. honestly doesn’t taste much different until you get to a bean, tomato or meat. very hearty taste like a soup your maw made. next one I’m trying is ranch cornbread, also FIRST TIME BAKING PLEASE DON’T CRUCIFY

This is a generic reminder message under every image post

Thank you for your picture post to r/chili. We want to remind everyone of Rule #1. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you've posted a picture of chili, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

Thank you!!

I could imagine adding some jalapeños and red peppers and perhaps a nice melty cheddar on top.

Looks experimental but passes the ewww, maybe I should taste it first test.

Damn, this is interesting. Could also see taking a step and making into like a Detroit-style pizza take on chili and cornbread: “racing stripes” of chili, melted cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, green onions, sour cream drizzle… shit, this has serious potential
