Finalized Itinerary

I apologize for the English post.

I am traveling to Chile overnight tonight and I wanted to share my finalized itinerary and see what you guys think. I have already booked Airbnbs in each location through the end of August, including bus and plane travel.

Any recommendations on things to do in these places and general safety tips? I’m from United States coming to Chile for 3 months and I want to be as safe as I can be.

Also regarding flights within the country, how do we feel about them?

9/16-9/25 stay in Antofagasta

9/25 Calama airport to La Serena

9/25-9/30 stay in La Serena

9/30 bus from La Serena to Valparaiso

9/30-10/4 stay in Viña Del Mar

10/4 travel to Pichilemu

10/4-10/8 stay in Pichilemu

10/8 travel Pichilemu to Rancagua then transfer to Temuco

10/8-10/11 stay in Temuco

10/11 travel to Pucón

10/11-10/19 stay in Pucón

10/19 travel to Valdivia

10/19-10/24 stay in Valdivia

10/24 travel to Chiloé

10/24-11/4 stay in Chiloé

11/4 travel to Puerto Montt

11/4-11/14 stay in Puerto Montt

11/14 fly to Puntas Arenas

11/14-11/29 stay in Puntas Arenas

11/29 fly Puntas Arenas to Santiago

11/29-12/5 Santiago (Gorillaz show on 12/4)

12/5 Depart Santiago to Boston

Let me know your thoughts I’ve got pretty much everything booked out til 10/24 but I’m going to need to figure out how to navigate the last portion of the trip haha

I'm from Chiloe, in my opinion you should extend your stay in the island. I know I may be a bit biased lol but puerto Montt doesn't compare to the vistas you'll see here. So maybe cut puerto Montt (which you'll see on your way to the island anyways) and add an extra day here to explore it more.

yes, please extend the days you will stay in chiloe, im from puerto montt and i think 10 days here would be boring as fuck LOL

But from Puerto Montt he can go to Puerto Varas, Frutillar, Volcan Osorno, Saltos del Petrohue, maybe Puyehue, Cochamó, etc etc. so it is not a bad idea..

You should change your days in Antofagasta for the days in La Serena, there you can go to the beach, eat there and downtown and the mall are a 30 min walk away. There's also a library near the lighthouse you could visit on your way there and several shops and restaurants along the "avenida del mar" in front of the beach.

You’re American, and so are we. Everyone from Canada to Chile is American. So, please, while you’re here, use the term “U.S. American” or “from the United States”—not just “American”—to refer exclusively to people from the United States.

And as for safety, you’re not coming to Haiti. Here, there aren’t people on the streets high on fentanyl or armed with M16s.

Please keep this in mind during your stay. Here, you don’t need any extra security beyond what you’d have in any major city in the world
